“Thank You,” Veterans

A cold north wind chilled the backs of their necks as they waited outside the church. Tired, hungry, and homesick, the soldiers of the 353rd Infantry stood like time-worn statues against the tattered and war-worn buildings of stone. Some of them had dreamed of seeing France one day, but not like this. All they wanted now was a hot meal, a bath, and good night’s sleep in their own beds back home. It was November 11th, 1918 and these brave individuals had given their all to defend the freedoms of millions of people they would never meet. Slowly the minutes ticked by and, after what seemed like forever, the moment finally arrived. The Armistice was signed and on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month World War I “the war to end all wars” was over.

“Surely no war would ever again reach this far into the lives of American citizens,” they thought. “This has to be the worst of all time.” Even President Woodrow Wilson believed this when he proclaimed November 11th to be a holiday in 1919. At first it was called “Armistice Day” because no one expected to have to endure a war like this again. But, they were mistaken.

Shortly after Armistice Day was approved by congress in 1938, our country would, once again, return to France and many other places all over the world to fight for freedom again. This time it was called World War II. It was the largest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen in our nation’s history. Following World War II, we sent troops to fight in Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle East where they still serve today. Although Veterans Day was originally designated to be a celebration of the end of World War I, it has become a celebration of all men and women who have served and are serving our country every day.

I learned when I was very young to respect veterans and honor them as heroes. Many of them would say that they were just doing their jobs, but their accomplishments amounted to far more than a day’s work. You see, heroes don’t have to have super powers, or amazing abilities. They simply have to put others first. They have to consider other people before they think of themselves. I can tell you about veterans I know who have fought in wars. But I can also tell you of veterans who have worked tirelessly to prevent them. I can tell you of veterans who have helped many people in the wake of hurricanes, floods, fires, and earthquakes. I can tell you of veterans who have built roads and bridges, who have explored space and the moon, who have served food, played music, fixed machines, programmed computers, and countless other heroic things. The size of the accomplishment is not what makes a hero. Heroes are made when people serve their family, their friends, and those around them by putting the needs of others ahead of their own.

So I say, “Thank You!” to all veterans, everywhere. Your service has made my world a better place. May God bless you, for you will always be heroes to me.

Regenerating Our Passions, The Month of Scorpio 2015

AUTUMN ATTUNING! Fixed Organized signs upon our Zodiac wheel always indicate we are settling into the present season. Scorpio guides Autumn’s organization, as the transformation of what was once alive cycles back into the state of quiet and death once more. Symbolized by The Scorpion, this time of the year calls for us to recognize our abilities to withstand deep and penetrating changes. The lesser known and higher symbol of this sign is The Eagle, who asks us to step into our abilities to view the entire scope of what regenerative power we have from where Scorpio lives in our Zodiac Pies.

The Zodiac Month Ahead Regenerating Our Passions

What we all can expect from the forecast of our planetary skies, 23 October to 22 November.

Making the Most of Our Cycle in Scorpio

Autumn 2015 continues as Scorpio now brings us into the intensity of the season, plummeting without hesitation into the depth of what transformation ultimately brings. As our Sun journeys with The Eagle/Scorpion, we are favored to begin again wherever it transits in our personal lives. Once we arrive at our New Moon in Scorpio 11 November, we will be in complete forward motion of these requests.

Scorpio’s consciously aim for power that is best accompanied with self-control verses repression. Their free will can choose from being incisive or ruthless; intense or fanatical; strong-willed or stagnant; reserved or suspicious; passionate or corporeal; possessive or jealous; and courageous or fearful. Every year the Sun visits Scorpio, these qualities of expression become the focal point of the collective consciousness, guiding the energy that our quantum universe channels for our free will’s to assimilate into our now from ‘As Above, So Below.’

The planet in charge of Scorpio is Pluto, who is The Transformer behind all our larger-pictures and full scopes of life, wealth, sexuality, infinity, as well as regenerative forces within the Zodiac as he journeys through his cycles. Equally bringing profound changes to any given sign during its’ varying 14 to 20 year elliptical cycle, this planet also brings generational influences into our astrological perspective. Known as the true death and rebirth sign of the Zodiac, Scorpio’s energy is powerful to experience, as long as the cultivation of forgiveness and right direction of aspiration is habitual within the soul’s deliberate energy.

Sun enters Scorpio 23 October

Shine Light Upon Regeneration

As our Sun enters Scorpio this year, we are called to a new learning that is able to regenerate what we hold to be true in our beliefs. There has been so much energetic release and calling for healing since our Sun was in Scorpio in 2014. It is time we honor reconsidering the philosophies we have carried for too long so we can all awaken to a new passion allowing us growth and proper evolution over the next year.

Our Sun’s time in Scorpio equally asks us to touch base with our soul’s power to identify with its’ desires. This is a favored time to probe, eliminate, destroy and regenerate whatever we no longer need from the Scorpio slice of life so we can move forward as evolution wishes us to in our transformational experiences. Neptune Retrograde in Pisces grants healing to what changes Scorpio brings surrounding 30 October, while Pluto in Capricorn favors a pleasurable rebirth 06 November to allow Scorpio’s shifts to cycle on in harmony. By the time these energies speak with Jupiter in Virgo 10 November, we will take our regenerating beliefs that we have been working on and notice they have indeed grown into new philosophies for our highest good. Mercury in Scorpio greatly assists us to allow even more changes to realign our thinking surrounding 17 November.

Mercury enters Scorpio 02 November; Sagittarius 20 November

Where Communications & Change Unfold

Our Messenger Mercury catches time with three zodiac signs under our Sun’s transit through Scorpio. His Shadow from his Retrograde passage in Libra finishes up as the Zodiac month begins, carrying out precision seeking methods of expression until he enters Scorpio on the 02 November. Throughout 20 November, the abilities to probe, become resourceful, remain positive as well as diplomatic will all be acutely penetrating from Scorpio to bring forward our necessary changes.

Once in Sagittarius by 20 November, Mercury journeys with The Archer to spark independent, versatile and aspiring mentalities even as he will conjunct Saturn on 24 November asking us to slow it down and become methodical. We’ll find responsible changes beckon from Sagittarius, asking for us to honor the deeper intellectual messages they are bringing towards us. Persistent, sobering, studious and reflective experiences can be anticipated to unfold from where Sagittarius aims to expand our lives throughout 09 December.

Venus enters Libra 07 November

Where Harmony & Understanding Align

Our Idealist planet settles in right at home within Libra until 04 December. After all the late summer and early autumn changes within The Scales, this will be a wonderful time to discover that peaceful, gentle, and easily expressed energy is officially moving us forward in this area of our lives. Remember to take into consideration what can be simplified, proportioned and given the genuine value it deserves wherever specifically Libra lives in our Zodiac Pies.

Responsibility comes right into play by 13 November as Venus converses with Saturn in Sagittarius, making sure what’s actually sincere is increasing in steady gains between these two areas of our lives. More transforming energy seeks to work with us as Venus speaks with Pluto in Capricorn 20/21 November as intense affections communicate between Libra and Capricorn to captivate our full emotion attention as well.

Mars enters Libra 12 November

Where Motivations & Desires Thrive

Our pioneering planet drives finalizing action within The Scales for the remainder of 2015 until 03 January 2016. With all that Venus brings forward for realignment here until early December, Mars carries out our desires to refine this area of our lives even further without any hesitation. As our powers of reactions and compromise are dynamically stimulated, there is a relaxed and well-regulated energy that promotes co-operation is ready to be courteous and amiable within our experiences here.

23 November finds Mars speaking with self-reliant and courageous tones to Saturn in Sagittarius, regulating with a bit more hard work, what Venus inspired here just 10 days before. 06 December calls forward energies to completely intensify what Venus & Pluto previously understood in late November as more adventure and self-confidence secures true strength and solidarity to be formed between Libra and Pluto. 10 December Mars opposes Uranus in Aries, stimulating fearless, strong-willed and forceful tones to keep us on alert to what can be invented and inspired in this polarity, verses attract violent, unbalanced, destructive or headstrong reactions to unfold.

Neptune goes Direct in Pisces 18 November

Where Subconscious Healing Returns to Conscious Action

Our mystical planet has been in its’ annual retrograde passage since 12 June, the fourth of many opportunities in Pisces that will ask us for review and reassessment throughout 2026. Outer planet retrogrades are never as pronounced as inner planets cycles of reflection such as Mercury, Venus and Mars. All the same, we were just asked to carefully reconsider on a subtle level what our Pisces area of life truly means to us. Wherever the Fishes swim in our Zodiac Pie points to precisely where this recalling was requested. If any falsehoods or unwariness exist within this area of the life, these have been asking for you to cleanse and release them.

This current era of Neptune in Pisces that began 03 February 2012 continues to ask the collective consciousness to be responsive to mystical ideas, mass emotions, and hear the call of the suffering of humanity. There is a great power at any of our fingertips to understand, aid and transmute what is being witnessed in affliction. This takes time in our modern day routines to remember we actually have more efficiency when we slow down, listen, and become still. As we recognize that passivity is not unproductive -but truly a necessary practice in order to expand our current consciousness- we can soak up the goodness of a telepathic moment, as well as enjoy the journey of how aesthetic spiritual habits only enlighten and expand our joy along the way.

What Are Your Passions? May you revisit the wonders of how they are absolutely meant to fuel your source energy with divine gifts for what is in the personal process of regeneration for you in the Zodiac Month ahead.

Did you know that no matter what Sun Sign you are, our Sun’s time in Scorpio profoundly affects your life from every planetary cycle’s perspective? Redefining Our Harmony, The Zodiac Month of Libra 2015

Redefining Our Harmony, The Zodiac Month of Libra 2015
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sharita_Star]Sharita Star

The Zodiac Month Ahead

Redefining Our Harmony

What we can expect from the forecast of our planetary skies 23 September to 23 October.

Making the Most of Our Cycle in Libra

The initiation of Autumn 2015 comes under the reflective tones of Mercury Retrograde who is asking us for review and redo within Libra 17 September to 09 October. As our Sun’s energy always favors beginning again wherever it is transiting, what’s new within Libra will see some weighing in of those pros and cons until the New Moon here 12 October, once Mercury is Direct again.

Libra’s consciously aim for harmony as their innate abilities are easily able to negotiate, adjust and compare. The options of their free will’s choices run from diplomacy to insincerity; helpful to interfering; friendly to dependent; susceptible to wavering; and contentious to lazy. As our Sun journeys here, these potential qualities become the focus of the collective consciousness and the energy that our quantum universe streams for our free will’s to choose from ‘As Above, So Below.’

The planet in charge of Libra is Venus, who is The Idealist behind all our relationships, finances, values and beauty within the Zodiac as she journeys through her cycles. Equally gracing any given sign for just about one month’s time (with exception of her Retrograde cycles) this planet also seeks our understanding, justice, fairness, and our sensations involving the material worlds. Known as a balance and relationship sign of the Zodiac, Libra’s energy is harmonious to experience, as long as the cultivation of firmness, decisiveness, and consistency is a natural practice of the soul’s intentional energy.

Where Does Your Sun Sign Wish For You to Redefine Your Harmony?

ARIES: Partnerships where I Relate

TAURUS: Habits/Routines/Health where I Serve

GEMINI: Creativity/Children/Love Affairs where I Create

CANCER: Home/Family/Environments where I Nurture

LEO: Thinking/Mentalities where I Communicate

VIRGO: Earning Power/Values with what I Have

LIBRA: Approaches/First Impressions with who I Am

SCORPIO: Inner Work/Subconscious Study where I Process

SAGITTARIUS: Hopes/Dreams/Wishes where I Socialize

CAPRICORN: Career/Public Life where I Structure

AQUARIUS: Higher Learning/Travel/Growth where I Believe

PISCES: Regeneration/Wealth/Sexuality where I Transform

Sun enters Libra 23 September

Shine Light Upon Bringing in Balance

Albeit Mercury Retrograde is calling for reflection in The Scales of balance, we all will still receive our opportunities to find the Sun’s initiating energy to pull through this area of our lives. Shortly after Mercury turns direct 09 October, 12 October’s New Moon in Libra will allow the new balance that is still in it’s process of developing to find it’s way during the latter half of our Sun’s journey through Libra. As the process of review and redo is alive and well, finding peace of mind within Libra can be found and will see it’s energy realign before the 23 October.

A strong request to listen as well to be alert to the changes that are happening in our lives during our Sun’s time within Libra calls from the sextile (an astrological blessing of easeful energy to flow) to Saturn in Sagittarius the Sun makes as it enters Libra until 27 September. Anytime Saturn sextiles a planet, you can be promised of progress if serious work and good organization are abound. Concerning Libra and Sagittarius, this is an excellent time to practice patience, self-discipline, clarity and precision of thought as to what will wish to connect between these two areas of our lives. Keep reading to hear about how Mercury will touch upon this even more as he turns Direct 09 October.

Mars enters Virgo 24 September

Where Your Motivations & Desires Thrive

Mars has been quite happy to ride out the end of summer in Leo, where he has been visiting since 08 August. Now, it’s time to bring action and shape up what needs to be brought to conclusions in Virgo throughout 12 November. Desires from The Virgin now become sublimated, with quite a disciplined energy that accompanies them to stimulate technical, scientific and executive skill, allowing our abilities to serve from this area of life with improvements across the board. Look forward to Mars conjunction (meeting up in the same sign) to Jupiter in Virgo 13 to 24 October (exact 17 October), packing a pure punch to this area of the life to find abundant energy and enthusiasm to prevail, with plenty of self-confidence to back it up.

The need for efficiency is unsurpassed as Mars journeys in Virgo, so enjoy the practical, selective, analytical, and logical methods this energy will promote. At worst case, this area of the life may find un-awakened desires that channel scheming, unresponsive, dissatisfied and argumentative attitudes when diplomacy is being ignored. Mars loves a good “fight” but wherever he travels, we are successful when the response of courage is our guide. Should conflict find your slice of life within Virgo until mid November, matching it will not win the battle. Remember as well, with our most recent Solar Eclipse and New Moon here on 13 September, pay close attention to 27 to 29 October as it crosses over the 20 degree Eclipse mark for more information about what new beginnings are in progress within your Virgo slice of life.

Pluto goes Direct in Capricorn 25 September

Where Your Transformation Finds Forward Motion

Our Transformer planet Pluto has been on a reflective pass since 16 April. While our outer planet retrogrades are not as intensely felt as our inner one’s upon the collective, when they station to turn retrograde or direct, seemingly energy is slowed down if not close to stagnant in particular ways, asking us to pause and take in moments so we can reassess. During our current Mercury Retrogade in Libra, as Pluto is on his station to turn Direct, he squares off (creating energy that can be conflicting, cornering and tense) to Mercury Rx on 24 September. Equally just a couple days before the total Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in Aries 27 September, you’ll find the emotional landscape will be “up.”

As the square happens to Mercury Rx (as it will again under the Shadow 22 October) our abilities to have keen mental penetration into the realities of any given situation are favored. Secrets are easily exposed, communications are deliberate, harsh and at times calculated. Under Mercury Rx, patience is required, and through free-will, sometimes it is best to simply be silent during these times to not create controversy. Looking to how Libra and Capricorn relate within the personal life is where one will find the ways that the truth will evolve as it should by late October, to expose what needs to be placed into a better foundation that allows a regeneration between these two areas of our lives that creates solidarity for the future.

Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse in Aries, 27 September

Letting Go Where Your Pioneering Spirit Pursues

When a Total Lunar Eclipse equally peaks in the pioneering energies of Aries you’ll see an extra force calling for careful listening to know how to guide patience and courage for what is releasing and asking to be healed from this area of the life. Energy unfolds for an extended period of time after the waning phase ends 12 October, where the effects of completion and letting go can last as long as 6 months for up to a year. This Eclipse and Full Moon lunation calls at 04 degrees Aries, which resonates with positive communications for release to Saturn at 0 degrees Sagittarius, just beginning his journey within The Archer. There is an undeniable responsibility concerning what will be letting go from our Aries area of life, as it connects to what is starting to change about our truth where Sagittarius affects our lives.

Ideally, this Eclipse & Full Moon contain tremendous opportunities for us to experience profound growth as we bear witness to how Aries and Sagittarius relate within our life. Deep feelings will be felt through serious and practical means. This is a powerful time to embrace our feelings as our teacher so we can learn from them. Being gentle and patient towards how self-acceptance flows within our lives allows this calling for reinvention and transformation to balance any energy out of sync within Aries.

Venus enters Virgo 08 October

Where You Find Harmony and Understanding

The last time Venus was at 0 degrees Virgo was 19 to 31 July on her station to turn Retrograde upon 25 July. As we honored her recent review and redo request concerning our relationships, finances, values and aspects of beauty across the board until 06 September, now her Shadow passage completes. Moving on in Virgo, this is where the unfolding story here gets even more pleasurable in the weeks to follow until 08 November.

Venus in Virgo helps us create affections that are pure, controlled, and dive into the love of moral beauty. As discrimination is equally part of Virgo’s channel, at worst, too much nit-pickiness or fussing may emerge about what you are valuing the most. When harmony is sought through being of service to this area of the life, we can recognize fearing commitments and self-surrender to what wishes to align peacefully in this area of the life is energy we are merely choosing to waste. By 25 October, Venus conjuncts Jupiter, opening up completely generous and optimistic channels to flow, promoting cheerful and friendly energy to be able to see the bright side of whatever situations are progressing from this area of the life.

Mercury goes Direct in Libra 09 October

Where Your Changes & Communications Move Forward

Our Messenger Mercury concludes his last cycle of reflection for 2015, and will continue to retrace his steps under the Shadow passage until 24 October, when he returns to his retrograde starting point once again. As always under the Shadow period, we are given the opportunities to fix, restructure and iron our those wrinkles that may have been made in our retrograde fabrics within our immediate decision making and choices under the review passage itself.

As Mercury stations to turn around, he makes a sextile (an astrological blessing of easeful energy to flow) to Saturn in Sagittarius over 07 to 16 October, as our Sun does as it enters Libra this year. What future gifts bestow us here if we utilize them well as the ability to find discipline our minds can enjoy at this time is strong. If we are listening, we can be in the full know, what Retrograde action has unfolded since 17 September brought us to a greater understanding of the truth, the real value and what we are meant to relate to within our lives. Now, we can move forward under the Shadow with confidence in knowing how the purpose of life deeply connects at this time between Libra and Sagittarius for us to embrace it for our highest good.

As we take the necessary time to redefine what brings harmony to our lives in the Zodiac Month ahead, may we all seek to understand before being understood as we continue to align more of how we love to evolve.

Did you know that no matter what Sun Sign you are, our Sun’s time in Libra profoundly affects your life from every planetary cycle’s perspective? Who Was Halloween Invented by and Where Do Its Traditions Come From?

You celebrate Halloween every year, but do you actually know why? Do you know how Halloween came to be? And where its traditions come from? You’ll learn all that and more in this article.

Who Was Halloween Invented by and Where Do Its Traditions Come From?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sam_Hain]Sam Hain

Blame Halloween on the Irish. And the Welsh. And the Scots. Even the French, perhaps. Why? Because they’re all Gaels and Halloween’s a Gaelic tradition dating back to pre-Christian times.

There’s no definitive date for its origin, but we do know it’s been around a while.

It’s derived from the ancient Gaelic celebration called Samhain (pronounced “Sah-win”), which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, or the “darker half” of the season.

It takes place from sunset on October 31st to sunset on November 1st. Do any of those dates sound familiar? They should.

Why Do We Dress Up For Halloween?

The main objective of Samhain seems to have been to protect the people and their cattle and help them survive the coming winter.

Part of the Samhain celebration involved dressing up, perhaps to ward off evil spirits or to disguise the participants from these same evil spirits. This was known as “guising”, which is known to have been practiced as far back as the 16th century. It involved the participants stopping at houses in the town or village, where they sang or recited verses in exchange for food.

Does this sound familiar? Take away the singing/recitation and swap candy for food, and, voila – Trick or Treat!

That tradition has been maintained and we see it every year in the Halloween costumes that have become so popular throughout much of the Western world, but particularly in the USA.

So, How Do We End Up With the Name Halloween?

The name we now use for the October 31st celebration of ghouls and ghosts (Halloween, or Hallowe’en) is thought to have been coined around 1745. It has its origins in Christianity and is derived from “hallowed evening” or “holy evening”.

The Scots refer to it as All Hallows’ Eve (the evening before All Hallows’ Day), the word “eve” meaning “even”, which gets contracted to “e’en” or “een”, so that All Hallows Eve eventually became Halloween.

What’s With All the Scary Decorations?

In the U.S., one of the traditional symbols of Halloween is the pumpkin, which is carved into horrific faces and shapes and used as a jack-o’-lantern to decorate the front porches of houses.

But, the Gaelic people of Britain and Europe originally carved out turnips to use as jack-o’-lanterns to ward off evil spirits. Pumpkins are native to the U.S. and are much bigger and softer and therefore much easier to carve than turnips, although, growing up in England myself, I don’t recall having too many problems when we carved out turnips.

The symbols that we now traditionally associate with Halloween have their origins in various sources, including:

Christianity (the backs of churches are often decorated with scenes depicting the Last Judgment showing open graves with the dead rising, heavenly angels and a devil-filled hell; the skull, which references “Golgotha”)
Horror and Gothic literature (novels such as “Dracula” and “Frankenstein”; ghosts are referenced in Scottish poet Robert Burns’ “Halloween”)
Symbols connected to autumn (scarecrows, pumpkins, corn husks, etc.)
Themes associated with evil, mythical monsters and death
Certain colours are also traditionally linked with Halloween, in particular orange and black. But why these two colours in particular? Well, again, it’s thought to go back to Celtic tradition, where orange is thought to reflect the nature of the harvest season, and black is the symbol of death.

Not very uplifting, is it? Maybe not, but it certainly boosts the scariness factor by a frightening amount!

So, armed with all this information, I hope you’ll be able to enjoy your Halloween celebrations even more, knowing just why you’re dressing up, going out trick-or-treating and stopping at houses decorated with orange and black and with skulls, skeletons and pumpkins everywhere.

How to Spot Inspired Action

Inspired Action, the key to success and how to spot it. Doing everything with Inspired action and watch yourself sky rocket.

How to Spot Inspired Action
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ruby_Gangadharan]Ruby Gangadharan

Happy pictures, busy lives and check in’s. That’s the life we know. Constant doing and then out doing. Rush this, rush that!

There is perception that things need to be done quickly to be considered efficient. And we need to constantly be doing the next big thing to be considered successful.

Where are we heading? Why the rush to get there? And is there ever a final destination?

Me? I like the attraction of slow. The joy of now. The hopefulness of dreaming of opportunities. It’s the reason why I love doing work with folks.

I speak about ‘Inspired Action’ a lot, in fact, its the tagline for the coaching services.

Like many of you, I have tried the ‘rush to do things’ and ‘complete as much as possible, now’. It always leaves me drained of energy, dissatisfied and unfulfilled. I mean, what was the point? There were days when I hadn’t stopped all day but had nothing to show for.

And it’s always because I was ‘doing’ something outside of my inspiration. I didn’t understand the need for the action or felt connected to it. I know a lot of you have had this experience too.

So how DO you know ‘Inspired Action’?

Here’s a small list that might help you identify Inspired Action:

It will leave you feeling energized and feeling fulfilled

It will generate ideas for you to work on AND that thought will make you happy

You’ll knock out the work in one easy flow

Time spent will be a breeze and won’t feel difficult

The work will connect with your purpose, values and beliefs

You will have fun and create that joy for others around you

You find that you have positively impacted people around you
We can try and list more but when you experience inspired action; you’ll just know!

There is no turning back. You’ll then look to find it, in everything you do. There is nothing to beat the experience of being aligned and in the zone.

Inspired action is the key to achieving success, the easy, fun way. Share your story with someone today. More than that, partner with someone and figure out an inspired action you’d like to take.

Have you worked with Inspired Action? When was the last time you felt connected to what you were doing? How often do you work in the zone of Inspired Action?
