It’s that time of year again – when everyone starts thinking about what New Years Resolutions they should make for the next year.  You want to make sure that you make yourself a better person in the year ahead; so what kind of resolutions will you make?  What area of your life should you improve this year?

To figure it out, maybe the top 10 new years resolutions that people make each year can help you out:

1.Lose Weight –

This resolution has been at the top of list for the past few years and it will continue to be at the top given that more than half of the US population is overweight.  Actually, globally obesity is becoming a big problem too.  If you are looking to lose weight this year, there are dozens of ways to lose weight and exercise more which is resolution #3 (see below).

2.Get Out of Debt –

Even though most people do not share it with their friends, there are a lot of people in debt.  So if getting out of debt is one of your new years resolutions, you are not alone.  There are many resources you can use to help you spend less money as well as start saving money so that you can get out of debt sooner.

3.Get in Shape –

After long hard days spent in front of a desk at our computers or slaving away at our jobs, it really is not surprising that we do not make the time to get in shape and regularly exercise.  Time and motivation are the two key elements to achieving this new years resolution.

4.Time Management/Spend More Time with Loved Ones –

Despite the hours we spend at work, we just do not get all our work done and we feel overwhelmed.  Managing our time better sounds like the solution, but who has the time to set aside to learn how to do it!  Now is the time, especially when we feel like we do not have enough time to spend with loved ones and those we care about.

There are ways to make everything you want to do fit into your schedule, once you learn to manage your time better.  This is a great resolution to tackle and it’s so easy to achieve if you have the right resources and help.

5.Quit Smoking –

This new years resolution is one (in addition to losing weight) that can save your life.  Even though finally quitting smoking is very difficult, there are so many products and resources out there that will show you how to do it – no matter how long you have been smoking – they can help you finally quit smoking.

6.Get Organized –

Clutter kills or at least that is the way it feels.  But getting organized is something that is not as easy as it looks, but with a little bit of elbow grease and a plan of attack, this is the one resolution that you can easily tackle and finish the fastest.

7.Quit Drinking –

If you know that you drink too much, this is the perfect time to stop.  Quitting can be a very tough challenge if you try to do it on your own, but there are many resources and organizations out there that can help you finally quit.  The sooner you reach out to them, the faster you can be on the path to recovery.

8.Start a Home Business –

If you are looking to earn a little money on the side in addition to your full-time job or you want to earn a full-time income from the comfort of your home, then this is a great resolution for you.  Thanks to the power (and low-cost nature) of the internet, anyone with a computer and internet connection can start an online business in just a few days.  Whether you want to sell your own products or tap into powerful sites like eBay or Amazon.com, now is the right time to get moving on starting that home-based business.

9.Enjoy Life More –

With everything you are responsible for at work and at home, sometimes it is hard to enjoy life and have a little fun for a change.  Life is short though, and there is always a way to find a little time to both do what you enjoy more, as well as enjoy what you are doing more.  If you change your outlook on life a little, you will find that most things that you do each day can be more enjoyable and you will find that you will be a lot happier.

10.Charity/Help Others –

You might already be giving a lot to others or maybe you just want to start helping others, but this new years resolution, while at the bottom of the top ten surely is a great resolution to take on.  There are so many ways to give and many do not involve giving money.  You can give your time, donate some of your old clothes or get involved in your local community.  Time, money, possessions, you name it, there is a way to help others and feel great at the same time.
