Use Faith to Move the Mountains in Your Life

You cannot NOT believe. Your mind is always believing something. Your faith will move heaven and earth to create what you believe, to move and re-order your experiences, your mountains, into what you desire.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea: and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. ~ Mark 11:22-23

Jesus told us to have faith in God. Other translations tell us to “have the faith of God” or to “have the God-kind of faith”.

Not doubt… Not ‘hope so’… Not ‘if it be Thy will’…

His will is His Word. If He said it, you can have it!

Faith steps forward with conviction and plants both feet firmly. It stands without wavering until the desired result appears.

I wish I could just open your brain and pour in the faith you need to always stay positive and God-focused. I wish I could convince you that no matter what is going on in your life, it’s temporary. The Bible calls it ‘temporal’. As long as we are here on this earth, everything is subject to change! And you have more to do with that change than you think.

You see, God told us to ‘have dominion’ (Gen. 1:27). He told us to choose between the blessing and the curse (Deut. 30:19). In great measure, our lives here are not determined by God. They are determined by our faith. We choose…

Let’s look at the process more closely.

First, understand that you cannot be without faith. Faith is a force of the universe. It is present in every person. You are believing something, all the time. You believe the chair will hold you, that the lights will work, that you’ll get a paycheck at the end of the week. Faith is the power behind your habits, preferences, thoughts, words and actions.

Atheists say they do not ‘believe’ in God. That means they do believe there is not a God. You cannot NOT believe. Your mind is always believing something. As the saying goes, ‘If you believe you can, or believe you can’t, you’re right!’ It’s all about what you believe, not what you want to believe, or hope will happen. Faith requires conviction.

What are you thinking?…

Faith in negative circumstances is called ‘fear’. Fear is belief in the power of something to harm you in some way. We fear the loss of a job because we ‘believe’, rightly or wrongly, that our position is in jeopardy, and that the loss will be painful and harmful. People have ‘faith’ that snakes, spiders, airplanes, oceans, and heights are harmful. That snake or spider is sleeping peacefully in the sun, but your negative faith triggers a reaction of apprehension or fright. Hundreds of people fly or sail on cruise ships every day, but the mere thought of doing so makes your heart pound and your stomach flop. All of it happens only IN YOUR HEAD. Your world is governed by your thoughts!

Choose faith.

From Genesis to Revelation, God reminds you to trust Him. “Believe only”, He tells you. “Fear not.”

Why do you think He stresses that? John explains it this way. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love (I John 4:18). Remember that God is love, so there is no fear in God. His very presence reduces fear to nothing.

It’s a measuring stick of sorts. If you’re afraid of something, you’ve excluded God’s presence in that situation. He wants to help, but you’re letting fear take precedence. If you allow fear and doubt, God will not interfere. You have to choose to ‘fear not, believe only’ (Luke 8:50). The results you want are on the other side of your faith.

Move that mountain!

See that mountain? It might be a mountain of debt. It could be a pile of pain. Or maybe it’s a seemingly insurmountable (no pun intended!) problem. Fear not! Instead, speak to it. Mark 11:23 says ‘say to the mountain’. Don’t beg and plead with God. He gave you His Word and faith. He told you to ‘have dominion’ (Gen. 1:26). He said that He has already given you the victory (I Cor. 15:57) and John explained that the victory that overcomes anything in the world is your faith! (I John 5:4).

Use it. Stretch it. Strengthen it with practice and determination. Hang on to the promises of God and speak only what you want, not what you already have. What you have is right in front of you – no faith needed. It already IS.

Faith – your faith – will move heaven and earth to create what you believe, to move and re-order your experiences, your mountains, into what you desire. God has promised to give you ‘the desires of your heart’ (Ps. 37:4). All it takes is faith – unmovable, unshakable unstoppable mountain-moving faith.
