Tips for Appreciating Life

Tips For Appreciating Life

Days go by and too often you don’t really appreciate your life as much as you could. In order to appreciate life much more you could have a gratitude diary. Every day make sure that you write in your diary or journal what you are grateful for and what has been good for you this day.

You could start your entry with the words ‘Today I am grateful for….’ and ‘What has been better for me today has been…’

Complete each line with as many things you can think of.

Consider all your different senses when you do this exercise. Think about what you see, what you hear what you have felt, both physically experienced through touch and been aware of emotionally, and what you have tasted as a pleasing sensation. Start with an initial appreciation of the way your body works and the amazing abilities you have to experience your environment through all your senses. If any of these are lacking due to illness then be appreciative of how the other senses make up for any lack by being even more able to detect and enjoy the world around you.

1. What you see

Begin by appreciating your sense of sight and the wonderful world around you and that you can see the beautiful colours and their tones and the way they change as the light changes.

Be grateful for any new things you have seen this day too and appreciate that you are open to seeing something new in places and things you have seen before.

2. What you hear

Your ability to hear is something to appreciate fully and then the sound of birdsong and the noise of traffic. Then there are new sounds, music, children singing, choirs and drums, whatever you have heard today which made your heart sing too.

3. What you felt with touch

Appreciate feeling of texture and surface or familiar and unfamiliar objects. Notice what you like better: smooth velvet or rough stone or coarse sand running through your fingers.

4. What you felt emotionally

Appreciate of your reaction to people, places and things and how they interact with your emotional landscape. Try to shift a negative emotions into a positive one and notice the shift that occurs when you change your posture.

5. What you tasted

Appreciate sensation of taste and how it can be enhanced with herbs and spices and different ways of preparing familiar and unfamiliar foods. Appreciate trying new recipes and adjusting the old ones to give you another sensation and be grateful for being able to taste more and better.

Thanksgiving Day Menu- Part of Our Cherished Memories

Days before the arrival of loved ones, the age-worn recipe cards are removed from their safe sanctuary so planning for the Thanksgiving Day menu can begin. Unnoticed and many times unappreciated are the hours of planning and preparation that are needed for the Thanksgiving Day menu.

Thanksgiving Day Menu – Part of Our Cherished Memories

Thoughts of the Thanksgiving Day menu fill our minds, as the crisp chill of the morning air can be felt. Soon the arrival of the Thanksgiving season will be ushered in. It is a time for families to come together and share precious past memories and create new ones.

Nearby produce stands display their prized collection of pumpkins. The prized pumpkin is soon to be an honored favorite found in the Thanksgiving recipes of many families, as part of their traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner menu.

Thanksgiving differs greatly from its soon-to-arrive acquaintance known as Christmas. Not so much with regard to faces that are seen around the carefully set dinner table for holiday celebration, but in that the atmosphere is much lower keyed. A Thanksgiving centerpiece for the table along with a wreath for the door and a few carefully placed keepsakes reflecting the season form a typical home décor setting for Thanksgiving. This creates that special ambience for entertaining and the laborious preparation of the Thanksgiving Day menu, which is undoubtedly a labor of love.

Days before the arrival of loved ones, the age-worn recipe cards are removed from their safe sanctuary so planning for the Thanksgiving Day menu can begin. Unnoticed and many times unappreciated are the hours of planning and preparation that are needed for the Thanksgiving Day menu. Dealing with endless lines at the grocery store to gather all the ingredients needed to create the treasured Thanksgiving Day menu recipes is a thankless job: But it is the task that sets into motion the beginning of family Thanksgiving Day dinner menu favorites.

The familiar aromas of home-baked goodies fill the house as featured items on the Thanksgiving Day menu. Anticipation of these mouth-watering delights brings back memories of earlier Thanksgivings, which were filled with the same delectable goodies. A family Thanksgiving tradition many times consists of having the same cherished Thanksgiving recipes prepared year after year.

The difference between then and now Thanksgiving is that as time has passed, loved ones who shared or prepared the keepsake recipes for the Thanksgiving Day menu may no longer be there to share in the celebration. But a feeling of closeness many times can be felt as the familiar aromas remind us of our departed loved one. Although this sometimes brings with it a solemn sadness from missing our departed loved one, it is at the same time a wonderful memorial to them in that they are a part of our cherished memories.

As the day ends, once again memories have been created that will join the priceless collection of other holiday memories. With its ending, holiday shopping takes center-stage with talk of best sale deals and alarm clocks set to the wee hours of the morning to signal the beginning of the “biggest shopping day of the year.”

Learn the art of apreciation, both of others and of yourself. Every Day is Appreciation Day

What would our lives be like if we were in the constant state of appreciation?

Have you ever tried to go through an entire day without making EVEN ONE JUDGMENT? Not even one opinion about the way some is dressed, or looks, or who is doing everything WRONG? Try it. It is almost impossible for us humans to do.

I have found a very powerful process that keeps me in the State of Appreciation, and that is to switch from judgment and negativity to the broader perspective of love and appreciation. Appreciation and love are looking through the Eyes of Source Energy/God.

Appreciation and self-love are the most important tools that you could ever nurture. Appreciation of others, and the appreciation of yourself is the closest vibrational match to your Source Energy of anything that we’ve ever witnessed anywhere in the Universe. Abraham-Hicks

We often focus on everything we don’t like about our lives and others: “How could she wear that? What was he thinking? My life sucks! My job sucks!” When I find myself making a judgment about someone or something, I try to catch myself as fast as possible and see things through the wider, higher perspective of Source Energy. That IMMEDIATELY changes my perspective. It changes my vibration to one of APPRECIATION instead of a low vibration of judgment. It changes everything in my view as I now have the broader perspective of God, Pure Source Energy.

Instead of the above statements, I might instead say, “How wonderful that she expresses herself and doesn’t care what others think,” “I am sure from his unique perspective and life experiences he has a point,” “I am so appreciative of all that I have,” “I am so appreciative for my job and my co-workers.”

It is also good to realize that often what we don’t like in others are things that we don’t like about ourselves. By unconditionally loving and appreciating ourselves, it’s much easier to feel unconditional love for others. One way to start appreciating yourself more is to write out a rampage of appreciation about everything you like about you.

My friend Osho Rewa, from India, is one of the best rampagers on self appreciation that I know. Here are some examples of his lists he has made about what he loves and appreciates about himself. Sit back and read a master of self appreciation:

• I appreciate my attention to detail – I notice small things, a slight change in flavor, how the little leaves seem to dance harder during the winds

• I appreciate how I delight in everyday things like breathing – I really enjoy breathing, once I start paying attention its like wowza sexy

• I appreciate my communication skills – I’ve got an involving, smooth flowing, clear way of writing

• I appreciate how I intuitively sense people’s needs

• I appreciate that I am passionate about food, I enjoy food so much. I like how I smell food, feel myself touching the food, look at foods closely, yeah totally enjoy food.

• I like how relaxed about life I am, I know that my life will turn out magnificently. And it is.

• like how full of energy I am all through the day.

• I am a natural inspirer, so many people tell me they find me uplifting, ‘a delightful breath of fresh air’

• I love what an appreciative being I am, and I am so happy that I turned my attention to me now

• I like how I take care of my body – giving it oil massages, stretching my limbs, eating what I am inspired to, walking, jumping yeah, and I appreciate the acceptance and appreciation I feel for all parts of my body – its heart warming

• I like that I like myself – what a guy I must be!

• I like my sense of humor – its free flowing, and I really crack myself up often

• I appreciate how much I delight in my senses – like this morning I woke up to sunlight reflecting off the green trees around, such a sight to see first thing in the morning.

• I’ve got a powerful, full smile

• I like how I care for aesthetics and always look for how to leave things beautifully

• I like how bold I am, if there’s something I want to say, I say it

• I appreciate the enthusiasm I bring to everything I do

• I appreciate that I delight in the successes of other people, I get so delighted when I hear of people succeeding that I pump my fist! I want to have happy, successful people all around me

• I like that I do what feels best to me

• I appreciate that I am accepting of myself in all circumstances

• I like that I am now accepting of other people too in all their diversity

• I like that I am relaxed and know I don’t have to figure it all out

• I appreciate that I feel happy for no reason at all

• I appreciate that I feel centered all through the day

• I appreciate that I allow myself as much rest as I require

• I appreciate that I have attracted peace unto me.

• I appreciate that I put my feeling good first

• I appreciate that I am one who is committed to my truth

• I am worthy of appreciation

• I say yes to myself

• I like that I allow my imagination to flourish

• I appreciate my ability to cook

• I appreciate my ability to play various sports

• I appreciate my ability to goof off

• I appreciate how easily I laugh, how playful I am, how easy going I am

• I appreciate that I am always looking at the bright side of things

After making a list of all that you appreciation about yourself, start to do the same with every person and aspect in your life; your job, your relationships, your body. You will be amazed at how good you feel. Appreciation is a heart felt feeling, and when you are there, the world looks brighter, everything is beautiful and all is truly well. And when you appreciate all that you have and look for the good and best in things, you bring more of that to you.

When I go into deep appreciation and love, I can actually see the lighting change, everything gets brighter, the trees are greener, the sky bluer, I can hear sounds more intensely. Because of my high vibration of Love and Appreciation, Source Energy/God can join me, we are a vibrational match. In other words, when you are in the State of Appreciation, you are seeing through the eyes of God. Your life will change dramatically for the better.

So, let’s make every day APPRECIATION DAY!

How Can the Art of Appreciation Transform Your Life and Your Business?

How Can the Art of Appreciation Transform Your Life and Your Business?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amanda_Reed]Amanda Reed

Are you feeling a little flat at the moment? Not manifesting your desires the way you had hoped? It could be that things in your personal life are going great, but not so well business wise? Maybe you are entering your work space each morning with dread, or overwhelmened? Or it could be completely visa versa for you and your work or business is moving perfectly, but your personal life is pretty ordinary?

One thing for sure is that the ‘art of appreciation’ really can transform your life in so many ways. Why? Because when you appreciate, you vibrate at a level similar to love, joy and happiness… The more you appreciate – the more you receive to appreciate.

So where can appreciating really have an impact on your life?

Appreciation and raising your vibration will support you in improving so many areas of your life. It can help you transform a good mood into an even better one. You can enhance your relationship with your loved ones, by remembering and appreciating their good points (rather than all the things that annoy you) and the reasons why you love them in the first place. You might find yourself in a negative situation that feels uncomfortable and threatening to you, and therefore, you want to take control of your own vibration. Or you might generally be feeling low and down and you want to change the way you are feeling, even slightly, so that you can improve your present situation.

It really is simply about directing pleasant thoughts in your mind to objects you wish to appreciate and then maintaining those feelings.

So let’s take a closer look at the art of appreciation…

How do we appreciate, especially if we are in a situation which might feel pretty hopeless?

Firstly, take a look around you and find something that pleases you. This can be anything you wish – it does not need to be anything major. It may be your pet, a cup of coffee. If you are driving – it may be a beautiful piece of countryside, or a gorgeous village you are driving through. If in a shopping market, it may be your favourite chocolate bar, or a cute baby in front of you… Whatever pleases you. The longer you focus – the more your positive feeling will increase and the higher your vibration will be.

Secondly, once you notice your improved feeling – begin to appreciate even more around you to improve your circumstance even further. Once your good feeling is noticeably stronger than when you began, look around and choose another pleasing object that you can appreciate and place your positive attention on it. The more objects you can appreciate, the higher you vibrate. The longer you focus upon things that feel good to you, the easier it is for you to maintain those vibrational frequencies that feel good.
So – for example – say you are driving throughout the countryside… You begin to appreciate the dramatic colours of green and the rolling hills; probably hills that in the past you have taken for granted. You then appreciate the trees and buds that have begun to bloom, the gorgeous wildlife and an old building that you hadn’t really noticed before. You then begin to appreciate your car, because it is raining outside and you are pleased that you are able to enjoy such beautiful scenery, whilst remaining dry. And before you know it – you feel fantastic and you remember how much there really is to appreciate in the world. You are truly living in your wonderful now!

What about appreciating in business?

You are feeling frustrated that you are not generating the income you desire, or attracting the clients you wish. You long for more income so that you can invest in the business and start attracting the clients you wish. Everyday you get more and more frustrated as things just do not seem to be manifesting for you.

But – are you really using all the tools and resources that you already have. Are you appreciating your present situation?

For example, how about the computer you are using? The internet that allows you to connect with anyone in the world? The incredible social media that is now open to us so we can create relationships with anyone we desire? How about the support network you have of like minded people? What about the pen you have to write with and the books you have to read? The list goes on and on – and you can see that, as you really begin to focus on all that is around you, how much there truly is to appreciate and how you can make this work to your advantage in raising your vibration to a high level.

So – how do you go about practising the art of appreciation long term?

Initially, it would be ideal to set aside 10/15 mins each day to practice this process (not long considering it will dramatically change your present circumstances). After a few days, you can increase the amount of time you do this exercise, although you will naturally begin to do so anyway. You will begin to find more and more things to appreciate and it will begin to be a genuine feeling that will regularly leave you with goose bumps. These feelings confirm that you are in alignment with ‘who you are’ and where you are intending to go and what you are manifesting.

“The more you find something to appreciate, the better it feels, the better it feels, the more you want to do it; the more you do it; the better it feels the better it feels… the more you want to do it” (Abraham-Hicks)

Now the point here is that the more you maintain these good feelings and the more you keep your vibration high – the more the law of attraction will deliver to you other thoughts, experiences, people and circumstances that will please you. This is a critical part that people leave out when trying to use the law of attraction… The feeling fantastic in your ‘now’ part.

How can we ever expect to attract exciting, amazing, happy, joyful and prosperous experiences, if we do not feel this way already and are not appreciating what we already have?

It’s important to remember that the more you practice the art of appreciation, the less resistance you will have in your own vibrational frequencies… And the less resistance you have, the better your life will be.

Once you get into the flow of appreciating, day after day, week after week – no resistant will exist and you will be in an exaggerated state of allowing. Your vibration will be in a position where all the things and circumstances you have desired for so long will begin to flow to you like a flower effortlessly blooms. The problems we tend to experience when manifesting our ideal circumstance is that we just try far too hard: we try far too hard to control the situation, rather than merely working on our feelings and our vibration.

The only thing that will ever hold you back in attracting what you desire is your own achievement of resistance. The art of appreciation will support you in aligning vibrationally to those objects that you desire and you will begin to practice the art of receiving.

“Once you have made a decision that nothing is more important than that you feel good and you have decided that you are going to consciously look for some things to appreciate today, the object your attention has now become the feeling of appreciation. You have now established a circuit between you and that object of appreciation that the law of attraction will begin working on immediately, so you will start seeing more things to appreciate right away” (Abraham-Hicks)

What steps are you going to take to feel good today and start appreciating your now? How are you going to work on raising your vibration? Are you going to make the decision to let things go, appreciate your now and go with the flow?

I would love to hear your comments on how this is working/not working for you?

Thanks so much for spending time with me here today – I really appreciate you!

“The Gift of Appreciation – Giving Verbal Bouquets

Cultivating the energy of appreciation takes focus and commitment, the same as tending a rose garden. It requires remembering and choosing to do it everyday and telling ourselves, “Today I’m going to look for things to appreciate.

“The Gift of Appreciation – Giving Verbal Bouquets
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Janet_Jacobsen]Janet Jacobsen

I am learning to live in a magical, miraculous, continually growing garden of appreciation. The more I appreciate myself, my life, and the people in my life, the more bloomin’ happy I am!

The ability to focus on appreciation is something that most of us are not born with, we have to cultivate it ourselves, like cultivating a flower garden. As human beings we are hardwired for fight or flight, for problems and things going wrong — we look for it, we expect it, we focus on it. That focus is there to help us survive. However, what we focus on grows and when we focus on what’s wrong we grow more of that. By choosing to focus on what we appreciate, we attract more of the same. It is a law: like attracts like, and appreciation attracts more things to appreciate.

I was first introduced to the amazing power of appreciation while apprenticing with Gay and Katie Hendricks (authors of Conscious Loving). I’ve seen them literally glow as they bestow upon each other beaucoup bouquets of appreciation. Recently they wrote, “We give each other 10-Second Verbal Valentines all year long. We believe it’s one of the main reasons we’re more in love now than when we met 25 years ago.”

I find that a wonderful residual benefit is that as you give the gift of appreciation you receive that energy. “A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives flowers.” (Chinese proverb). When you look for things to appreciate, that is the world you are living in. In focusing on and giving appreciations, you are cooking in that expansive, vibrant, joyful energy, which is so much more fun than stewing in the negative, contractive energy of carping and faultfinding.

Cultivating the energy of appreciation takes focus and commitment, just like tending a rose garden. It requires remembering and choosing to do it everyday and telling ourselves, “Today I’m going to look for things to appreciate.” Before you know it, it is a habit, it is who you are, and it is the garden you are living in. Give the people in your life verbal bouquets and you will find your relationships blossoming. Focus on what you appreciate about your life and soon you will experience that everything’s coming up roses!

How many heartfelt flowers of appreciation can you generate today? Gather them together and give them away in a beautiful verbal bouquet.
