Let Mothers Day Poems Express Your Love

Of all holidays and special occasions, Mother’s Day is one that is full of memories, longing and thanks for everyone. Of all holidays and special occasions, Mother’s Day is one that is full of memories, longing and thanks for everyone. This one day of the year is when we take a moment to pay tribute to that one person to whom we each owe so much. The love of a mother is unconditional and eternal, and on Mother’s Day children, young and old, take the time to honor her in return. We do this by writing letters, sending cards and flowers, and buying or making presents for our mothers. One of the most touching tributes is reading or writing Mother’s Day poems.

You can find copies of some of the finest Mother’s Day poems in many flower and gift shops. There are also thousands more that are available in books or libraries. These poems range from being quirky and humorous to sad and deeply poignant. In fact, the writings that contain deeply felt emotions are the ones most people will choose to send. Children want to express how they feel in their hearts about their beloved mothers and even husbands choose these lovingly written cards to give both their mothers and their wives. Poems about mothers or about a mother’s love have been one of the favorite topics of writers for centuries. Every country and civilization has many examples and there are few top poets that do not have at least one poem dedicated to a mother or motherhood.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Bertolt Brecht, Robert Louis Stevenson, Robert Burns and Henry Van Dyke are only a few who have written poems in honor of mothers. These stanzas are able to strike a chord in people who live in countries around the world because they can identify with the sentiments. The love and care of a doting, patient mother is one of those universal experiences that almost everyone shares. There are only a few exceptions that occur and this is when a mother dies during, or after, childbirth; or when the mother and child bond is severed for some other tragic reason.

To motherless children, of any age, Mothers Day poems contain sentimentality unlike any other type of writing. The ideas and emotions that are expressed within the lines never fail to stir their hearts and souls. These words they read also create a longing in them to experience those feelings of a mother’s deep and patient love.

Many of the Mother’s Day poems that are popular for this special occasion will bring smiles and tears to the eyes of both sender and recipient. The depth of feeling in many of these is unabashedly sentimental and will tug at the heartstrings as the words bring back memories of years that have passed too quickly. Mothers Day is one of the most popular of all occasions and it holds many records. There are more cards and flowers bought at this time of year than any other. Even phone calls on Mother’s Day will fill the airwaves as children anxiously and eagerly make contact with that one person in the world who has always loved and cared for them, their Mother.

Mothers Day Cards With the Personalised Touch
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Neil_Jontas]Neil Jontas

You’re one in a million if deep down you don’t think that your mother is truly one in a million. They can be fickle, judgmental, argumentative, overly outspoken, cryptic, unpredictable, demanding, all different flavors of challenging, but all said and done, at the end of the day, when it all boils down to it, your mother is but one in the world and is that special day of the year when you really get to show your mother exactly how much she means to you.

The ‘Mother’ Of All Holidays
We celebrate Mothers Day in recognition of the millions of things that mothers do the year round to nourish us, enrich our lives and protect us, regardless of our age.

Traditional gifts are a dime a dozen. Flower bouquets, scented soaps in the shape of flowers, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, spa getaways, chocolates and pot plants are among the most commonly spotted gifts come Mothers Day. Breakfast in bed is a tried and true method to start mothers off on the day with a spring in the step and a smile on the face.

Remember When?
Whilst the majority of mothers the world over will be most gracious about whatever they receive on Mother’s Day, many of us find the task of preparing the perfect gift to be a stressful and delicate task. We want to do more for our mothers than the run of the mill. This was an easier task as children, when an unstable, misshapen pottery cup with odd coloured glazing and a wobbly hand painted ‘Mum’, made for a gift that would be treasured for life. As we progress in years, the task of presenting our mothers with something truly memorable becomes a bit more complex.

What To Get Your Mother On Mother’s Day
There are endless variations of thoughtful gifts on the market to suit any budget. However, if you think back to the Mothers Days of your life, you might recall that your mother, like most mothers, tends to open Mother’s Day Cards before unwrapping any gifts. The reason? Cards hold the most important element of Mothers Day your sentiment. Cards contain the opportunity for you to tell your mother in your own words exactly how much you treasure them. Whether gift is original, inventive, expensive, elaborate or barely better than average, you’re likely to find that mothers around the globe find the words in cards to be the true essence of the holiday and your real gift to them.

Mothers Day Cards
Mothers are likely to be happy with any kinds of Mother’s Day Cards. However, you want to make sure that yours is something that strikes your mother, a card that she’ll proudly display on the mantelpiece, keep at her desk at work, or show her friends.

Given the importance that Mothers Day cards hold in the holiday, it’s almost startling how frankly boring conventional Mothers Day cards are. Whilst watercolour pastel flower donned cards are lovely, they’re nothing to write home about. Standard inscriptions on the inside of most Mothers Day cards are generally likely to be equally as unremarkable. It usually falls to the words lovingly handwritten on Mother’s Day cards to make the card stand out and to really make your mother’s day, right? Not necessarily.

Personalise Your Mother’s Day Card
Imagine your mother’s surprise and delight when she opens an envelope to unveil a Mother’s Day Card that speaks directly to something special and unique about her, no one else. Something that invokes a special something about the way you feel about her, the relationship you enjoy with her and how much you know her as an individual.

How To Personalise Your Mother’s Day Card
A great start when thinking of how to your personalise Mothers Day card is your mother’s name. Simple, but highly effective. It says to the world that this card was especially created for your mother, no one else. Sure, your mother might be called Anne or Julie, but the message is there and it’s unmistakable. From there, you can pick decorations that mean something to your mother, e.g. if she loves gardening and topiary, your path is clear.

One thing’s for sure, putting that personal touch on a Mother’s Day card can make a world of difference and make your mother’s day really special.

Key Steps on How to Live a Positive Life

Being positive has many benefits on our health and well being. Here are some practical tips on how to keep on the sunny side of life.

Key Steps on How to Live a Positive Lifestyle
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Barbara_Alexander]Barbara Alexander

Throughout the struggles that sneak in to our day to day lives, negativity can become somewhat pervasive.

Remaining positive even throughout the dips takes determination and a focused mindset, but the benefits are well worth the effort.

Adopting a glass half full philosophy can, among other things, improve stress management, our immune system, our overall physiological as well as psychological well-being, and… it can even add years of great joy to our lives!

Being positive doesn’t mean that you bypass your difficult feelings or that you have to ignore the unpleasant situations which come into everyone’s life from time to time, but does it mean we that can learn to control the way we choose to look at things and shift them so that we get the necessary message behind the discomfort and are able to move on to experience more joy.

Here are some tips to support you in staying on the sunny side when life seems to throw us a curve ball.

Different things work for each of us so pick what works for you and practice it – just a few focused thoughts can create a powerful shift!

1. Don’t try to fix things when you are in the heat of the moment. It is never a good idea to try and solve problems when negative emotions are running high, escalated or overwhelming. Take a step back, breathe and find your balance. It may require that you get away from it COMPLETELY so that you can find that balance through a completely different focus on something that feels good, and then come back with a fresh outlook. The results are apt to much better.

2. Find the space to Rock Back and Breathe. Practicing deep breathing techniques is one of the most relaxing stress relief tactics, and we can do it ANYTIME and anywhere. Push out all stale air…breathe in through the nose 1..2..3..4.., hold for a count of seven, and whoosh out 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8. Feels good, right?!

3. Practice smiling and think of something you love. It is virtually impossible to feel anger when you are smiling. I think there is actually a natural hormone that is produced when you use those muscles! Manipulating our facial features is a proven technique for improving our mood and when that vibration is improved, your heart’s inspiration has space to be heard and that can lead you in the direction you need to go.

4. Faith. There is a process of handling uncomfortable emotions that helps you to find peace no matter what is going on. When I am at a loss and overwhelmed with worry, I ask for help and lean on my faith in Knowing there is more to life then what I currently understand. We are not alone and we are loved deeply.

5. Forgiveness. Well, this is a funny thing. Forgiveness implies that it is OK for us to judge another being as needing to be forgiven. People do things because they believe it is the right thing to do, even if it seems to us to be wrong. We cannot control what others think or do, but we can control how we think about it. So, in any situation that causes discomfort you might try being curious if you could think about it differently. We might try forgiving ourselves for being in this situation in the first place and then open our hearts for the deeper meaning behind the act that we feel needs forgiveness.

6. Feel for the opening and deeper meaning. Sometimes the best way to handle a frustrating situation is to take the steps to better understand what your heart is truly calling for. What do I really want? When what I am focusing on is really what I don’t want, I have zero chance of finding the solution. Many times what you are dealing with is coming up for a greater reason. The deeper meaning and inner hope is waiting there for you to find.

7. Keep inspiration alive. Sometimes remaining positive is as easy as remembering to BE positive. Keeping snippets of inspiration readily available can be just the motivation you need to have a good day. I always keep daily doses of just such inspiration and you can easily find them through my Twitter and Facebook posts if you aren’t already tuned in!

8. Listen to the whispers. It is easy to be negative when we are not tuned in to the calling of our own heart. It is only through conscious inner alignment that we will be able to fully embody an authentically positive life.

9. Appreciate. So many people are driven to accomplish, that they forget to take the time to appreciate what they have already done. They are always focused on the future and what isn’t done and totally miss the joy that is right in front of them.
The remedy? Keep an appreciation journal – it’s a GREAT IDEA! Before you start your day, add to the list all of the things you appreciate in your life, and I would bet it will affect your vibration for the rest of the day.

10. Time that heals all wounds. You may have heard this saying before but what does that really mean? It may have to do with your wisdom and how that grows over time. Sooner or later you will realize that nothing is so important that you should give up your joy.

Just remember that joy and positivity are a high vibrational state of being. It takes practice for everyone, but with this practice it becomes easier to do. Don’t give up- it is within your reach!

“When we are ready to make positive changes in our lives, we attract whatever we need to help us” -Louise Hay

Mother’s Day: Why You Shoud Celebrate Mom All Year Long

I would encourage you to honor your father and mother. As an adult, I now understand that Biblical commandment has more far reaching ramifications than I could have imagined…

Mother’s Day: Why You Should Celebrate Mom All Year Long
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=William_A._Edwards]William A. Edwards

My aunt passed away when I was a teenager. Helen was my mother’s only sibling and the two were close. I watched my mom take care of her sister and her children all throughout my young life. It was the same for her parents. Whenever my grandparents needed help, my mother was there in a heartbeat and I learned from that.

Helen was not even fifty years old when she died. Never in the best of health, it didn’t help that she had a high pressure job as a New York City social worker. She had a big heart and helped a lot of people, but it finally gave out while she was in a Bronx hospital in 1971. My mother was by her side when she passed having flown there from our home in Florida to help her family.

When it came time for the funeral we all watched in horror as Helen’s children draped themselves over her coffin with inconsolable grief, refusing to allow the funerary workers to remove it to the hearse. Her four children (ages late teens to adults) all screamed and cried while proclaiming how selfish and mean they had been and how badly they treated her during her lifetime. And they were right…

Helen’s children treated my aunt like a dog. They refused to help her with the household chores, got in trouble and made her short life a living hell. Her husband worked hard, but he couldn’t or wouldn’t help to keep the kids in line. When her children were younger and she was going for her masters degree, my mother kindly allowed them to stay with us for almost a year to take some of the pressure off Helen and her husband.

At the same time that Helen became gravely ill, my mother was also trying to take care of their aging parents. My grandfather was extremely sick and my grandmother was not in the best of health either. All this put a huge strain on my mother and our family, but my father and I understood what needed to be done and helped out all we could.

I was always impressed with my mother’s loyalty towards her family and the selflessness with which she helped so many people over the years. As a registered nurse, she cared for all of her patients like they were close relatives and they always missed her on her days off. These things rubbed off on me and set a standard that I knew I had to try and meet.

Watching my cousins carry on the way they did at my aunt’s funeral was a valuable life lesson for me. I promised myself that as long as my parents were alive I would bend over backwards to do all I could to help them whenever they needed me. I could not imagine and certainly did not want the kind of guilt those kids felt as they said goodbye to their mother in her casket. They had not even come to see her while she was in the hospital.

When my mother passed away a few years ago I was sad, but not beside myself with grief. That’s because I always kept in touch with her, visited her, dropped everything I was doing when she needed me and had no regrets. Most important of all, when I became a Christian by accepting Jesus as my Savior, I made sure that she was given that same opportunity and she also accepted the Lord into her life. Mostly, I just missed being able to talk and visit with mom.

I have shared this cautionary tale about my aunt and cousins with you because I think it’s important for people to celebrate their moms all year round, not just on Mother’s Day, by turning your love into action. I would spare you the terrible guilt and grief felt by my cousins because they put themselves before everyone else. I would encourage you to honor your father and mother. As an adult, I now understand that Biblical commandment has more far reaching ramifications than I could have imagined.

Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life

Regardless of what anyone says, you have the ability to get yourself back in the game. Disappointments happen, but that is all part of the process. Rather than more of the same, if a setback has occurred, do the legwork to figure out why and implement changes.

Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jaclyn_Rae]Jaclyn Rae

At first glance the phrase, “Be your own cheerleader” might seem a little silly or strange. This is however, how I choose to look at it. For this example, I will rely on a sport most people are rather familiar with which is football. Ever think of the purpose of cheerleaders in a football game? It is essentially a chain reaction. The audience cheers on their team, but what if the team is losing? Even the fans of a team can get frustrated from time to time. It is fairly easy to get stuck in that defeated mentality, but that is the perfect time to rise above it. Cheerleaders step it up to try to keep the audience involved and excited. It can most certainly serve to inspire and/or motivate the players who may be fatigued or feeling defeated. There are plenty of times a team has even come back from a losing position because they were able to keep their head in the game, and rise above the challenge.

I am not here to sugarcoat. There will be plenty of times when you might feel like quitting, or when you are feeling defeated if something does not turn out the way you expected. Honestly, I have been there too…I mean, I had to change the path I was on when life threw me a curve ball. Each individual out there faces challenges, and avoiding them only hinders the ability to become stronger. Regardless of what anyone says, you have the ability to get yourself back in the game. Disappointments happen, but that is all part of the process. The past might not have been so great, so just make the choice that things will operate differently this time. Rather than more of the same, if a setback has occurred, do the legwork to figure out why and implement changes. Changes might seem overwhelming at first, but take it a piece at a time.

Most importantly, I encourage you to stay focused and excited about what you’re doing. One suggestion that I find works might be to have a reward system in play for yourself, when each milestone has been accomplished. During the tough times, convert the negativity into positive movement. Find things that inspire you to stay committed to YOURSELF, so that you can succeed in the face of adversity. Anything is possible. Above all, do not forget to be your own cheerleader! I truly hope you find more happiness and success with this new mindset!
