General Tips for Success in Your Life

Every single thing that you do, think or say each day contributes to your success rate. If you are determined to build a stable and abundant life, read the following tips for success. Keep in mind that they will only go as far as your mind-set will allow you. So it is important that you remain positive, determined, and focused as you work towards your goals.

First, accept that ‘success’ and ‘ambition’ are not bad words. It is only human to want prosperity and stability. We have a right to maximize our potential and earn as much money as we possibly can. So don’t let your detractors put you down.

Make peace with yourself. Learn to forgive yourself for any mistakes you made in the past. Tell yourself that you deserve a second chance, and that you will do better this time.

Know your passions and interests. Can you picture yourself working in a job you dislike just for the money? That goes against even the tips for success shared by successful career people and entrepreneurs. Those people did well in their respective fields because they loved and enjoyed what they were doing. If you are doing something that is right up your alley, a strong work ethic comes naturally to you.

Be an enthusiastic learner. Learning did not stop when you left school. Learn on the job. Learn from your own mistakes and the mistakes of others. Get rid of your fear of failure by trying new things. Read up on the things that interest you, whether they are of a personal or professional nature.

Nurture relationships with people who matter. Your success relies on the strength and quality of your relationships. Surround yourself only with positive family members, friends and colleagues. Choose mentors who generously share tips for success rather than selfishly keep them a secret. Do not trample on people to get to the top. What goes around comes around.

Get rid of the following negative words and thoughts: Examples: “I can’t”. “I’m afraid”. “I don’t think that’s possible.” “I’m such a loser.”

Take care of your health. This is non-negotiable. A sound mind and body are part and parcel of success. Sickly people are never successful.

Manage your money. Don’t let it manage you. Use good judgment in juggling your finances.

Do not procrastinate. Each day we have a checklist of the things we need to accomplish. Do them. No ifs or buts. Finishing tasks on time builds character and discipline, which will come in handy when you start taking on bigger responsibilities in both your work and personal life.

Be patient and thankful. Greatness is not achieved overnight. Continue the good things you are doing and be grateful for each little success you earn each day.

Pay it forward. As you find yourself slowly but steadily reaching the top, share your tips for success to others. You contribute to a better world when you help more people.

This is meant to be a concise article summarizing the benefits of exercise, plenty of advice that will give you a good headstart, as well as a recommended exercise list at the end. Just keep in mind that getting into shape and improving your lifestyle habits (including nutrition, rest, scheduling, etc.) take a long term, disciplined approach.

There are many benefits to exercise, including burning calories, elevating your mood, and heart disease prevention. Using cardio training to improve your fitness also improves your circulatory system, strengthens your heart and lungs, improves bone density, which all help immensely not just with other types of exercise, but life in general! Benefits to lifestyle include improved mood, stress / depression relief, better posture, being able to fall asleep quicker, as well as sleeping more deeply.

Not only that, strength training helps not only build your muscle mass and strength, but also your endurance, and performance of daily activities such as lifting, carrying, and walking. Your flexibility is also enhanced, which helps to prevent back pain, and pulling muscles. Not only that, even your ligaments and tendons adapt to training, and become stronger, and less prone to injury. The additional muscle and bone density gained in training also help in reducing injury to joints. The metabolism definitely gets a boost with effective training, which results in improved body composition. The end result will be more muscle and less body fat. More muscle doesn’t necessarily mean a big, bulky look – but regular, effective exercise will (as a rule) result in improved muscle tone.

Since this is not meant to be a comprehensive article, keep in mind that there is a lot more to understanding fitness than I can condense into just a few pages. Nutrition and lifestyle changes are two important topics to consider when starting a new fitness program. Also, it’s a good idea to join a local gym where a certified fitness trainer can help you figure out the best options and routines. Lastly, if you’re new to fitness, you’ll want to get at least a basic idea about nutrition, body mechanics, and fitness concepts.

If you’re just starting out, I recommend calisthenics, also known as body weight training. Calisthenics train the whole body – muscles and joints. This means no equipment required, so you can practice the exercises anywhere. Practicing calisthenics builds functional strength and muscle tone very naturally. It also boosts the metabolism. Even if you’re already in shape, easier calisthenics exercises can help train your whole body, strengthen any weak areas, and rehabilitate joints.

I recommend the Convict Conditioning approach to calisthenics. It teaches training progressions that range from easy to insane full body strength. I’ve worked through this approach personally and have taught it to my students, with great results. I would highly recommend it to anyone trying to get into shape. It’s an approach, not a set routine! Once you understand the basic concepts, you can become your own coach.

Two other ways to build strength and muscle are weights and machines. If you decide on either of these, start light, and build gradually over time. Before starting a program, though, be sure to find a workout partner you trust, or visit a local gym and talk to a certified fitness trainer. Gradually introduce more protein into your diet from natural sources, and supplements if needed. (Nuts, grains, cheese, milk, various types of protein powders such as whey and creatine, etc.)

I also recommend kettlebell training. Due to the ballistic, full body nature of a kettlebell workout, it accelerates fat loss, packs on lean muscle, and builds explosiveness. Kettlebells help with cardio, power, speed, muscle endurance, stance training, mental toughness, efficiency in movement, and strengthening your core. Strength and stamina in the lower back, legs, shoulders, and grip also benefit. Caution and proper form must be used at all times with kettlebells – as such, seek out a qualified instructor before starting with kettlebells.

Change up your routines up once in a while if it helps yu stay motivated. Also, what you do outside of the gym or exercise in general is just as important, such as making any necessary lifestyle changes, as well as getting the right nutrition and rest. Always try to eat fresh and drink things like water, tea, gatorade, fruit smoothies etc instead of sodas.

If you want to bulk up, work up to heavy weight and/or hard calisthenics exercises with low reps. If you want to tone up, you will want to start burning off any unhealthy weight, while also building muscle in challenging strength sessions. The key is to burn more calories than you take in. Remember to have a small, nutritious meal after a hard workout, such as a protein shake and a piece of fruit. Also, always give your body enough recovery time after a workout. Moderately heavy to heavy amounts of lifting should be done every other day to allow time to recover. (“Heavy” depending upon what level of training you are at.)

Need to lose weight? Get out and get movin’! Get any kind of cardio you can fit into your daily routine. Do laundry, some yard work, walk the dog, whatever! Get on the bike, jog, take an aerobics class… The list goes on! Find a friend to go outside and get active with – have fun with it!

Exercise List. Let’s look at some recommended body weight, dumb bell, and curl bar exercises. Remember to set realistic goals – such as allowing a few months to achieve the right look. Feel free to research other exercises as needed to help train for your own personal performance goals, and talk to your fitness instructor for ideas on how to tweak your routine.

1. Basic warmups and stretches. Warmups should usually include joint rotations, which oil up the joints, and some kind of aerobic activity, such as skipping rope, walking, or jogging. Aerobic activity warms up your body temperature and increases blood flowing. This helps to improve your muscular performance and ‘elasticity’, which helps to prevent injury (such as pulling a muscle). If you do not stretch correctly, injuries can occur, so always start slowly if you are new to flexibility training. Start with a few minutes of static stretching, which is used to stretch out the muscles while the body is at rest, then move onto dynamic stretching. Remember to do light aerobic activity such as walking or jogging and some more static stretching, at the end of your workout to cool down the body.

2. Pushup variations. These work primarily the pectorals, triceps, and deltoids. One armed pushups are the gold standard in chest and elbow strength.

3. Curls with dumb bells – these work the biceps. If done standing, use light weight if necessary to practice correct form. If using a curl bar, sit in a stable chair with your back flat against it, with your elbows locked in against your body. This will help stabilizie the body, and isolate the biceps.

4. Alternating front raises with dumb bells – works anterior deltoid. Allow your body to swing as little as possible – maintain correct form at all times.

5. Military presses with curl bar – works the deltoid muscles in the shoulders as well as the core and legs, which you must use to stabilize the weight.

6. Squats with curl bar – works the quadriceps. If you have trouble with your knees or ankles, lower the weight or do squats normally without the bar.

7. “Skull crushers” with curl bar – works the triceps.

8. Dead lift with curl bar – works grip strength with the erector spinae, gluteus maximus, adductor magnus, hamstrings, and quadriceps serving as the primary muscles.

9. Pullup variations – pullups are a compound exercise that primarily work the biceps, and latissimus dorsi (or ‘lats’ for short). The lats are the largest muscles on the torso, and run from your armpits to down beyond the ribs. Most of the other muscles in the back also get worked by doing pullups. Not only that, your fingers, palms, and forearms are given a great workout by holding up and pulling your body weight as you grip the bar. This translates to building grip strength. Lastly, pullups give your abs and hips a great isometric workout. Because of these benefits, pullups help train the body for hanging leg raises.

To do a pullup, start by getting a good grip on a horizontal bar or anything sturdy you can hang from. Keep your shoulder girdle tight and your elbows slightly kinked in the starting position, to help prevent injury. Generally, with full pullups, you will try to pull your body weight up until the chin clears the bar, and you then lower the body until your arms and shoulders are almost fully extended. If you don’t have the strength yet to complete the full range of motion, start with easier variations of the pullup. Also, to work strictly on grip strength, try working on hanging grip work (again using a horizontal bar or anything you can hang from).

10. Leg raises from a horizontal bar. This primarily works all the muscles in the abs, as well as your lats. You also get some benefits to your forearms and shoulders, since they are used to hold your weight from the bar. When you first grab onto the bar, do nothing else until your momentum has disappeared. Your body should be still and your legs straight before you start the first repetition of the exercise. Slowly raise your legs as far as you can. As your abs get stronger you can increase your range of motion in this exercise. If this exercise is too hard at first, try hanging knee raises or flat bent knee raises.

Astrology Forecast for July 2012 – General Tendencies for All Sun Signs
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Janet_Moon]Janet Moon

Last month was difficult, but in July we should begin to see things improve. We will have a few difficult days with Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto acting out, and Mercury will be doing his retrograde thing again this month. But, Jupiter and Uranus will also be sending us some unexpected blessings around the time the Sun enters Leo. All in all, compared to last month, July will feel like a walk in the park.

July will begin with an optimistic tone under the bright and shiny Sagittarius Moon, and Independence Day (July 4th) will be very nice with Mercury and Venus dancing with Uranus. We may find ourselves making new friends and new plans, and we may even find opportunities for new love on this U.S. holiday. But, the weekend of July 6th, we may feel like our energy is drained and things could be confusing, with Mars and Neptune disagreeing. It won’t last long. Life should approach normalcy by Monday, July 9th. In fact the week of July 9th could be rather uneventful for most.

Those with dominate Aquarius in their charts may find that things aren’t going as expected around, Friday, July 13th with Uranus turning retrograde. Please, be gentle with your Aquarius friends around this time. Also, Mercury’s retrograde will begin on July 14th (July 15th Europe and east), and that could cause problems for those with dominate Virgo, Gemini, and Leo. Mercury will be doing his whole retrograde in Leo this time, and that could really slow down progress for most of us for the next few weeks. Lions love to rest. Keep expectations low for the weekend of July 13th, and if you do any traveling, expect delays. There could also be problems with authority figures this weekend, so by all means, drive the speed limit.

July 16th could remind us just how blue, “blue Mondays” can be. Mars will be lining up for a big fight with Uranus and Pluto. Mars will also be counting on extra aid from Jupiter. But, Jupiter may not be able to deliver all that Mars’ expects, because of a different disagreement with Pluto. (It kind of reminds me of office politics.) Unexpected emotional eruptions and arguments are probable. Also when Mars and Uranus are at odds, automobile accidents are more likely. Add Pluto to the mix, and these accidents could become tragic. We may feel like we have extra energy and drive, but some of us will also make some really big mistakes. Do not press your luck. This planetary shake-up will finish up with the Cancer New Moon on July 19th.

After the New Moon, life will begin to improve. New ideas and new opportunities will begin to approach us as Ramadan begins on Friday, July 20th, and we should find that work and play will blend well for the whole weekend. It will be a great time for detailed projects, travel, and parties. Mercury’s retrograde may bring old friends back into our lives around this time. It will also be a great weekend for visiting places from our past. The passed-over could also be paying us a visit, so pay attention.

We may find that Monday, July 23rd, will begin rather routine, but by evening the parties will begin. We may decide to take a short trip and catch up with old friends, or maybe we’ll just chat with them on the computer. But, no matter what we do, late Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be an exciting time for conversations, reunions, and new ideas. Spiritual connections could also grow stronger. Conversations could get a little out of balance on Thursday, July 26th, but our attentions will be sharper than ever by Saturday, July 28th.

Life could get rather exciting during the last few days of July, but things will also feel very stable and sincere. Our decisions will be realistic and yet optimistic, and our passions will be heightened.

August could bring even more opportunities with the outer planets calming down and Mercury turning direct. We even have 2 Full Moons in August to stir our passions. Check back next month to find out more.

How to Choose Peace: Are You Making Wise Choices?

If you want more peace in your life, you must recognize that it is a choice you make, not something that just happens to you. You choose peace or stress moment by moment, day after day. If your life is filled with turmoil, worry and tension, you have chosen to give those thoughts and emotions control. Let me explain…

How to Choose Peace: Are You Making Wise Choices?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ruth_Seebeck]Ruth Seebeck

First keep the peace within yourself, and then you can also bring peace to others. ~ Thomas a Kempis

If you want more peace in your life, you must recognize that it is a choice you make, not something that just happens to you. You choose peace or stress moment by moment, day after day. If your life is filled with turmoil, worry and tension, you have chosen to give those thoughts and emotions control. Let me explain…

When you were little, you quickly learned there were rewards for right behavior.

No tantrums in the grocery store meant a treat when you got home.
Good grades received praise and – sometimes – money.
Doing chores on time and with a good attitude earned extra privileges.
Getting homework done before dinner meant extra TV time.

The decision was yours. If you choose poorly, you didn’t get to take advantage of the benefits. They didn’t disappear. The treats and the television were still there. You just lost the privilege until you began making better choices. In addition, there was probably some pain involved if you made bad ones. You get the idea.

Sometimes those choices seemed harsh: “But, mom, everybody else is going!” Whine, whine, whine.

When you didn’t want to do what you knew you should, everyone around you knew how you felt! Grumble, grumble, gripe. I’ll bet you single-handedly chased peace out the back door!

Then you grew up. You left home and started making your own decisions. Yeah! And you discovered that you still have to make wise choices, regardless of how you ‘feel’ about the situation. Go ahead; tell me you’d go to work if you didn’t get a paycheck!

God’s Way… or the World’s

The world sends constant opportunities for worry, stress, anger, envy and every other negative emotion. It is up to you to choose peace.

Peace is part of the Blessing of God. It is yours by right of covenant. But just like when you were a kid, you won’t get the benefit if you aren’t choosing wisely.

The longer you make poor choices, even seemingly insignificant ones, the greater the penalty. It’s built into the system. The wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). That’s the devil’s territory, for the Bible clearly tells you that he comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Jesus came to bring you life and peace.

Don’t Lose Your Peace

The choice seems elementary, yet so many people choose poorly.

How can we so easily lose our peace in the search for fun or escape, vengeance or control?

I mentally debated the word ‘lose’. Do we give up our peace on purpose? Do we surrender peace as insignificant or unnecessary? Are we so spiritually unaware that we don’t recognize its value? Do we think it’s a worthy trade?

No, I think we actually do ‘lose’ our way in the bombardment of the world’s stresses and enticements. Peace gets lost amid the search for instant gratification or respite from the pressures of living.

It looks so welcoming to run away from current situations, to abdicate the wise choice in exchange for momentary pleasure. It feels like a good choice because it relieves the emotional pressure, at least temporarily. Divorce seems easier than dedication and commitment. Drugs or alcohol feel more enticing than accepting responsibility. A government check takes the place of hard work. Honor and integrity have been ‘lost’ in the chaos of pain and distress.

Choose Wisely

There was a time in my life when peace was nowhere to be found. My husband and I were in constant turmoil, fighting and bickering about almost everything. I hated my life but couldn’t figure out how to change it. We couldn’t survive on two paychecks, how could I do it on one?

Then one day after a particularly pitched battle, in tears, I told God, “I can’t do this anymore. If You don’t give me what I need, I just won’t have it, but I’m not fighting with him any longer. I refuse to depend on him for anything, Lord. I’m just going to depend on You.”

Now, it seems crazy that it took me so long to realize that the choice was mine all along. Fighting wasn’t changing anything. Neither were worry and stress. From that day forward, my life started to change.

I won’t tell you it was easy to let go of the resentment and bitterness. I will tell you that it was worth it. Don’t be held hostage by your emotions! They’re too unreliable.

You see, you can’t have a testimony without a test. And you can’t have a victory without a battle. But you CAN have the peace of God in the middle of both. Each and every day you make the choice.

… seek peace and pursue it. ~ I Peter 3:11
… let the peace of God rule in your hearts… and be thankful ~ Col. 3:115
… My own peace I now give and bequeath to you… let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid (Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed… – John 14:27b AMP
… live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you ~ 2 Cor. 13:11b
… follow after the things which make for peace… ~ Rom. 14:19
Be careful for nothing… let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passes understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~ Phil 4:6-7

Peace is not passive, it is active and effective. It does, however, require your participation. The Bible instructs you to let peace by your umpire (Col. 3:15 AMP). If your words and actions do not line up with peace, you must choose differently!

Don’t get sucked into the turmoil around you. You can press past the pain and pressure of your feelings to DO what you know is right. That is where you will find the peace you seek, by choosing the best, not what ‘feels’ good. Wise choices are the key to peace… just like when you were a kid!
