Essential to achieving anything is the realization we are all human. Each of us has a particular set of circumstances to deal with, our own self-image. We all have feelings, dreams, hopes and aspirations. With the media constantly sensationalizing the lives of others and glamorizing the human experience, it can seem much easier to assume our lowly lot in life is the final word.

We all have dreams. Those dreams are rooted in the same ground, the same earth. Each of us has this one earth as our canvas, and regardless of what you might think, one picture to be painted. We are all connected. Upon that premise, know that there is nothing in life you cannot do. There is nothing fundamentally different between you and the most successful role model you have. The only difference is circumstance, action and opportunity.

Second, once you understand you can do anything, it’s simply a matter of investing the time and patience into making your dreams reality. If you set goals, write them down, and mark them off as you achieve them, it will build your confidence and carry you through the difficult tasks. Break your goals down into realistic parts and organize your path to achievement. There’s nothing wrong with wanting the most from life. But understand every goal has its price and you must be prepared to do what you have to in order to succeed.

Third, know the terrain and equip yourself with the knowledge necessary to plan effectively in life. Once you know what you care about and what passions you possess, invest substantial time into cultivating them. This doesn’t necessarily mean monetary efforts either. By investing in your talents and interests and learning about them daily, you are investing in you. The rapid changes in technology now enable us to learn more than ever about practically any subject. No longer are the times when books and schools were the only means of education. Google and YouTube have consolidated more media than we could have ever imagined possible. Even video games now are capable of entertaining us in ways we couldn’t have dreamed of just ten years ago. We can get our news and updates instantly from our cell phones and learn all there is to know about anyone from the comfort of our desks or couches. Invest in learning how to use this technology and research. The more you know, the greater the chance you’ll put yourself in a position to capitalize on rare opportunities. Also, it makes the world much smaller when you follow the latest trends in areas such as politics, entertainment, or education. Being aware is half the battle. It enables you to network effectively and direct your efforts more efficiently.

Conclusion

Using the power of learning and self-reflection, you’ve learned to create the world you desire. Suddenly the boundary between where you are and where you want to be isn’t so strong. By harnessing the power of self-perception and self-image, we can become better people–better in the sense we are more aware of what makes us each valuable. From that point, we can invest in cultivating our true selves and using that understanding to strengthen our resolve, resiliency and passion in life. Recognizing and acknowledging your desires and interests in all your endeavors will improve the quality of your life and work. By organizing your thoughts and breaking down your goals into small steps, you open the door to achieving more. Is taking action is the only thing keeping you from achieving your destiny? Yes. No matter what you do, you must do something.

Show Your Dog Some Love This Valentine’s Day

Show Your Dog Some Love This Valentine’s Day
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ron_Ayalon]Ron Ayalon

The day dedicated to love is coming up. While Jack may not be the main love of your life, you can still show him that you love him with special Valentine’s Day gifts for dogs. You don’t have to go out and buy him a diamond encrusted collar to make him happy, either. Many of the gifts that Jack is sure to love are very inexpensive.

Deer Antlers
Deer antlers are a wonderful chew toy for Jack, and what dog doesn’t loving to chew? Deer antlers are a safe and healthy chewy for your dog. Don’t worry; no deer were hurt to get the antlers. As a deer matures he sheds his antlers. These excellent raw hide substitutes are a great way to keep Jack busy for a little while so you can enjoy some quiet time for yourself on Valentine’s Day. The bone marrow naturally clean tartar from Jack’s teeth and they won’t splinter in Jack’s stomach the way cooked bones have the potential to. Additionally, deer antlers don’t have any residue, so you don’t have to worry about stains on your carpet or furniture.

A Tasty Puzzle
Dogs are inquisitive by nature, so giving Jack a puzzle to figure out will keep him happy. No, Jack isn’t going to develop a talent for doing puzzles like you do, but you can make him a puzzle of his own. You need a hollow, rubber chew toy like a Kong. Fill the inside of the chew toy with peanut butter or canned cheese. Jack will love the tasty treat and he will have fun trying to use his tongue to get the stuffing out of the toy. If you want the stuffing to last as long as possible, put it in the refrigerator overnight before presenting it to Jack.

Outside Toys
If Jack is a dog who enjoys spending lots of time outside, give Jack some new outside toys for Valentine’s Day. A new Frisbee, some tennis balls or a throw stick are some great and inexpensive ideas. If you want to give Jack some added fun, choose a toy that vibrates or makes noise. Now, if you decide to give Jack a new outside toy, don’t tease him with it by expecting him to play in the house. Pencil in some time on Valentine’s Day and beyond to take Jack out to enjoy his new toy. If it is cold outside, be sure to get Jack a sweater and some booties for his feet so that he can truly enjoy his time outside. If you don’t think he’ll wear the cold weather ensemble, watch for shivering. It’s not as though he can tell you he’s cold.

Time and Love
Even if you are on a very tight budget, you can still afford to give Jack something he is sure to love if you just give him some of your time. Dogs love attention, so if your budget doesn’t allow you to buy Jack a gift, just grab his leash and take him out for a walk. When you get back from your walk, spend some time rubbing him or grooming him. If Jack likes to take a bath, give him a warm bath in the tub and take some extra time to massage his coat as you go.

Tip
When you are getting Jack’s presents ready for him, don’t wrap them up in paper or use bows on them. These items may cause Jack to choke if he tries to chew them off. Instead, you can place Jack’s present in his food dish before he gets up in the morning. Just imagine how happy he will be to see that he has something new to explore for the day.

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Linda_Carol_Wilson]Linda Carol Wilson

Chili, no matter the variety, is so good when it is slow cooked. That makes it the perfect dish to make in your crockpot or slow cooker. Once you have it in the cooker, you can go on about your business and have a delicious hot chili waiting for you when you are ready. Try these recipes for Ground Chicken and White Bean Chili, Turkey Chili Mac, and Chunky Chili for some variety. Be sure when you are buying the ground chicken or turkey for these chilies that you read the label. Do not buy ground poultry that has skin listed in the ingredients as it has too much fat. Both of these chilies are diabetic friendly, too!

GROUND CHICKEN & WHITE BEAN CHILI
1 lb lean ground chicken
3 cups coarsely chopped celery
1 can (16-oz) whole tomatoes, undrained, coarsely chopped
1 can (15.5-oz) Great Northern beans
1 1/2 cup coarsely chopped onions
1 cup chicken broth
4 tsp chili powder
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
3/4 tsp ground allspice
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp pepper

Spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray; heat over high heat until hot. Add the ground chicken and cook, stirring, until browned. Transfer the chicken to a slow cooker or crockpot; add the remaining ingredients. Stir the mixture well. Place lid on cooker and cook on low setting for approximately 6 hours until the chicken is cooked through and the celery is tender.

Yield: 6 servings

TURKEY CHILI MAC
3/4 to 1 lb ground turkey breast
1 can black beans
1 can Mexican-style stewed tomatoes
1 can diced tomatoes
1 cup whole-kernel corn (drained, if canned)
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 cup raw elbow macaroni
sour cream, for garnish, if desired

In a large skillet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, cook the turkey with the onion until turkey is browned lightly. Combine the turkey/onion mixture in a slow cooker or crockpot along with the beans, stewed tomatoes including the juice, diced tomatoes including the juice, corn, garlic, and chili powder. Place lid on cooker and cook 4 to 6 hours on low setting.

Stir the macaroni into the cooker, replace lid and cook for 10 minutes. Remove the lid and stir the chili well. Replace lid and cook approximately another half hour or until the macaroni is tender.

To serve, ladle into soup bowl and garnish with a dollop of sour cream, if desired.

Yield: 4 to 6 servings

Enjoy!
