What Burns Fat Fastest – High or Low Intensity Cardio Exercises?
What Burns Fat Fastest – High or Low Intensity Cardio Exercises?
By Jack Jenkins
People who are trying to burn body fat often ask the question: What cardio exercises burn fat the fastest? Is it better to walk at a low intensity or run at a high intensity?
The answer is simple. Both low and high intensity cardio exercises will aid in burning off that extra body fat. Now, the real question is what is more efficient and show results faster? To answer this question you will need to find out what your fat burning zone is.
The answer lies in simple biology. Researchers found that your body burns a substance called glycogen when you are exercising at a high intensity. Glycogen is a type of carbohydrate that is found in your muscles and used for energy during low intensity exercise. Of course, when people realized this they modified their workouts to include more low intensity exercise in order to burn more fat.
Sounds great, right? Well not exactly. The fact is true that when you are doing low intensity exercises such as walking that you do burn fat. However, you burn a lot more calories when you are doing high intensity exercises such as running. Glycogen is still being burnt up, but you burn a lot more fat calories doing high intensity workouts.
The best thing is that when you get low levels of glycogen, what you eat later gets turned into glycogen and will replenish the glycogen levels. This intake of carbohydrates won’t be turned into body fat because it is being used to replace what you burnt off.
Also, performing high intensity cardio exercises elevates your metabolism even after you are done working out. In other words, you will still be burning fat long after your workout. If you are doing low intensity workouts, this will not occur. So ultimately your body is going to burn way more fat calories as a result of high intensity exercises compared to low intensity ones.
Many people fear high intensity exercises thought. An easy way to integrate more vigorous exercises into your schedule is to do interval training. For instance, start off walking quickly for about 5 minutes, and then turn it into a jog for 5 minutes. Slow down and walk again for about 5 minutes to catch your breath. Once you catch your breath, sprint as fast as you can for about a minute. Now walk for another minute. Switch back and forth from a sprint and a walk every minute. Do this for about 15 minutes.
This is just a simple example of how to include high intensity exercises into your routine. There are many other simple ways to burn fat fast. If you do this at least 5 times a week you will see results and start losing body fat.

Oh the glory days. It is a statement that I hear often followed up by “If I could only have my youth back”
While the inevitable of aging is with us all, it doesn’t have to be a process of dread, doom and gloom. Aging is a beautiful thing that shouts out to the world “Hey I made it through my younger years!” It’s really sort of funny listening to the 6 in one hand and half dozen in the other types of tongue lashing we give ourselves.
It’s all a matter of how you take life as it comes at you. Yes my dears; I know the road can be rocky and we have all had our fair share of tragedy and maybe a bit of debauchery along the way but look at it this way… If you are reading this and getting a kick out of it already you probably know where I am going with it.
Even the title of this article quite possible switched your mood just from seeing the words “beautiful and youthful” in the same line.
So let’s just squeeze this wonderful gift of life for all it’s worth the way we did when we were closer to that person we use to be and get it back!
Here is a list of 5 beautiful ways to get back a youthful mindset.
1. Show Gratitude
When you get up in the morning give thanks for it. You now have another day to make the same effort of doing something spectacular with it. Heck; today may just be the day you change your entire life around and get that energy back that you use to have. I’m talking pure energy from within. Did you know that your mind can actually serve as a platform for increased energy? Just one change in your daily routine can set the stage for a paradigm shift.
2. Get Your Brain What It Needs To Be At It’s Best
Your brain is made up mostly of water. Give it what it needs. Get yourself a large glass of beautiful clean water and drink it all. Not just a thimble, a big class of the good stuff. Did you know your brain weight is made up of approximately 75% water? What do you think happens to it when it gets dehydrated? Yep, headaches, nausea and a whole mess of other stuff that is not so beautiful. So, keep it happy and you will see a big change in your mindset. Things will just start looking more beautiful to you including your outer appearance.
3. Practice Inner Peace and Let Go of The Grudges
Through the years you may have collected a few thoughts of no real value that have attached themselves to you. These thoughts are those that demand you to be something you are not. What a struggle the mind has when it has been convinced that you have to put up the act on a daily basis. Give yourself permission to be at peace. Let those that you have in your mental jail, be set free. If you are busy being the gate keeper or the guard over those that have hurt you in the past, you are still allowing that pain to live inside of you. Learn to forgive and let it go.
4. Take Time to Listen to Yourself and The Truth of Your Heart
Peel back the layers of the calloused heart and mind. Get back to the real you. You know you better than anyone. Get back that fire that you had when you were younger. That burning flame that kept you up at night wondering about the great things you would do in the following days. Can you remember how that felt? Simply amazing is how it feels when you remember the honesty of youth.
5. Give What GOD Gives You Every Single Day.
God gives all of us forgiveness every single day of our lives. All he asks if that we forgive others as well. When you learn to forgive your life will be a sweet as it gets. Forgiveness can be difficult at times but it is truly the key to ultimate happiness, peace and a youthful mindset. If you are happy and have a peace about you it will show in many ways. It will show in the way you think, the way you treat others and the way others will treat you. I realize that I pointed out forgiveness twice but it is that important when you are seeking to regain your youthful mindset.
Have a Beautiful Day!

Business Success – Getting Over The Hump
Have you started a business and are not seeing the results for which you had hoped? You may be going through the dip, or the hump, as I like to call it. Know what it is and how to overcome this natural business phase.
Business Success – Getting Over The Hump
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tony_VM]Tony VM
If you’re thinking of starting and owning your own business, there are many things that you’ll need to think about and lots of things to do. Before you get into those specific details though, you should do something else. That is, you should look deep into yourself to answer the following question: “Do I have what it takes to get over the hump?”
What, exactly, does that mean? Let me explain the concept, one I learned several years ago after reading a book called “The Dip” by Seth Godin. The concept is a simple one to understand, but a harder one to apply. I know it’s true because EVERY one of my businesses went through it.
Basically, in business or any new venture in life, the starting point is always the hardest. There will be lots of struggles and problems to overcome. If you’re starting a business, you’ll have to learn about marketing, business planning, taxes, and much more. You’ll have to set up your business, hire workers, purchase inventory etc. Then, you’ll need to advertise and market, process sales, offer customer service and more. This my friends, can seem quite daunting.
In the beginning, you had a vision. You could see the result clearly, whether it was 10K per month, or 100K per month. You KNEW you were going to get there. However, problems got in the way. You’ve struggled to attract customers, struggled to get your website working and other problems that may seem insurmountable. Now, you’re wondering whether it was worth it.
I call this the hump. The book called it “The Dip.” Either way, it’s a very real concept in business. It’s one of the reasons why businesses fail.
To stay motivated, you must realize that yes, you will go through the hard times and yes, you will get through them and get over the hump, when things become much easier. It’s inevitable. All businesses go through it.
I like to think of a snowball rolling downhill. The snowball is small at first and doesn’t have much speed. As it rolls, it grows larger. As it grows in size, it’s speed increases. Bigger. Faster. More and more size and more and more speed. This is your business.
At first, it will seem nothing is going your way. Everything seems hard. Long hours are the norm. Problems are frequent. Few customers and few sales. Here is where a majority of people give up. They throw up their hands and tend to say “it’s not going to work.” So, they quit.
Do yourself a favor. Be persistent and DON’T QUIT.
Now you’ll want to ask: “How Long With The Hard Times Last?” Unfortunately, I cannot answer this because each case is different. For some, the period preceding the hump could take a month or two. For others it could be a year or more.
Know that you’re just going through the phase that’s before the hump. Also know that once over the hump, things will get much easier. Sales will start to flow in like water from a faucet. You may literally wonder where all the customers came from. Trust me, if you have a good product this WILL happen. Have faith. Know it’s just a business phase that is totally normal. You just have to get over “the hump.”
Here’s a question to ponder. “How many businesses owners quit just before they reached the hump?” We’ll never know. Make sure YOU are not one of them.

Essential Ingredients For Great Italian Cooking
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tony_VM]Tony VM
There is arguably no food as great smelling and great tasting as Italian. From spaghetti, to garlic bread and Italian salad dressings, the mouth simply waters when thinking about a great Italian meal.
Coming from an Italian family of great cooks, I learned through my father and his relatives how to make great Italian food. Here, I’d like to share some of that knowledge.
First, you should know that you DON’T have to use a recipe to make some great tasting Italian meals. Know which ingredients to pair together will allow you to create some great tasting food, as well as make meals that are relatively quick and easy.
There are many ingredients that go into great Italian food:
TOMATOES: Whether using whole or cut up tomatoes for salads or other recipes, or using stewed tomatoes for spaghetti sauce, there’s one thing I’ve learned: “ALL TOMATOES ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL.”
Without going into the brand specifics, quality tomatoes are key. If you think about it, tomatoes could be picked at any time during growing and ripening. Different brands may do it differently. In addition, stewing and canning methods vary. Although I don’t know this to be absolutely true, what I do know is different brands of tomatoes taste different. The best way to judge is to try different brands and pick the ones you like.
My family’s favorite brand, and therefore, the ones I use for making spaghetti sauce is “74/40 Tomato Filets.” They’re not available in supermarkets – only specialty stores. You can find them if you search online.
PASTA: Of course, pasta is the main ingredient of may Italian dishes. Looking in your grocery aisle, you’ll find a wide array of pasts shapes and sizes, from regular spaghetti, to fettuccine (wide noodles), angel hair (thin noodles), to shells, bow-ties, macaroni, farfalle, and more. Each has its own uses and tastes.
Of course, regular spaghetti is most often served with tomato sauce and fettuccine with alfredo (white cheese) sauce, but these are only the most common uses. Your own creative ideas can turn these pastas into unique meals.
BASIL: A very common spice in Italian cooking, basil has a sweet taste, which accounts for it being referred to as “sweet basil.”
It comes dried in your spice aisle, but BY FAR, the best use is picked fresh.
Basil it extremely easy to grow in gardens or in pots, taking no care at all except watering. Just look for seeds or plants in your local garden center, plant according to the directions, and you’ll be enjoying the fresh taste of basil in your own recipes.
Use basil in pasta dishes, in tomato sauces, in meatloaf, over steak, and more. I LOVE IT. I can’t get enough during the growing season.
A wonderful dish is combining fresh tomato slices, olive oil, mozzarella cheese, salt, pepper, and basil into a salad mixture. Yummy!
GARLIC: It’s no secret that garlic is a staple of Italian cooking. If I have a choice, I’ll always use fresh over bottled. Here’s a little story.
For years, I would purchase bottled minced garlic and use it in dishes because it’s definitely easier than using fresh and I didn’t want the hassle. Just use approximately 1 tsp. minced for each clove.
One day I decided to purchase some fresh garlic instead. I was blown away by the difference! The aroma! The taste! There really is no comparison! Just get a good quality garlic press and try using fresh garlic. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. You may not want to go back.
OREGANO: Another necessary ingredient of Italian dishes is oregano. Next to garlic, it’s probably the most common. Adding garlic and oregano to dishes is the quickest and easiest way to add an Italian flavor.
Although I’ve grown fresh oregano and used it in dishes, I find the dried spice has a more pungent flavor and I do prefer it over the fresh. Try both and decide for yourself.
OLIVE OIL: Olive oil is used my many Italian cooks to saute ingredients, add to salad dressings and add to pasta dishes.
If you want that true Italian flavor, do not use vegetable oil at all. Olive oil is the way to go! Besides giving a great flavor, olive oil is MUCH healthier than other oils, containing the “good” fats that can contribute to a heart-healthy diet.
So, purchase the best olive oil you can afford and use it in all your cooking in place of other oils. You’ll be better for it. (As a side note, olive oil should not be used for deep-frying.)
Here’s a simple recipe for homemade Italian dressing. Combine 2 parts olive oil to one part red wine vinegar, add salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic powder to taste. Mix and pour over salad.
ROMANO CHEESE: If you ask a lot of people what type of cheese goes into Italian cooking, they would say Parmesan. However, that answer would NOT be correct. The correct answer is Romano. This cheese has a stronger and more pungent flavor than Parmesan. Sprinkle it over salads, pasta, and garlic bread for a great tasting Italian cheese flavor.
Buy the grated Romano in your local supermarket, and make sure the jar says 100% Romano, no fillers or other cheeses mixed in. It’s not always easy to find, but look hard because it’s essential for a great Italian dish.
With the ingredients above and a little creativity, you should be able to cook some great Italian meals. Try some soon.
