Have you ever wondered why some people are more successful than others? Sometimes people who seem very well equipped for success never quite make it, while others who have few advantages and no resources can become extremely successful.
What is the key?
Let me prepare you for the answer:
• It’s not glamorous.
• It’s not easy.
• It’s not attractive.
The answer is self-discipline.
I told you it wasn’t glamorous, easy, or attractive. But, hey, that’s probably why so few people recognize this as the key to success! If it was glamorous, easy, and attractive, everyone would be scrambling to have it. Since self-discipline can be mundane and difficult, most people think about it and then move on to other options, concluding, “There must be a quicker way than this.”
There isn’t. Trust me.
We all know people who are naturally talented. They can effortlessly do things like play sports, paint, speak to crowds, or cook. For some reason we think that this natural talent should be enough to propel us to success. French author La Rochefoucauld said, “It is not enough to have great qualities; We should also have the management of them.”
No matter how talented you are, if you don’t discipline yourself, you won’t progress. I know first-hand that a person can have a natural talent for karate, but without the self-discipline required to show up at every practice, repetitively perform each action until it is right, and focus the mind on the routine at hand, it is impossible to stick with it and move up through the ranks.
No matter how talented you are, you need self-discipline to turn your talent into a career.
One of my favorite thinkers, Jim Rohn, said, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.” So many people feel like their goals are out of reach, far across a great divide with no way to get to them. No matter how difficult it is to walk across, the only bridge that gets you to the other side is self-discipline.
Many people think of discipline as a negative word. Discipline means that we can’t do whatever we want whenever we want to do it. True discipline means we must do what we should do whenever we should do it. Because it impinges on our freedom, we don’t like discipline much.
While discipline may never be your friend, it gets results – and it can provide you with freedom (financial or personal) down the road.
Jim Rohn also said, “We must suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment.” Either you bear down and discipline yourself (which can be temporarily unpleasant) or you must live with the long-term unpleasantness of never reaching your goals.
I encourage you to embrace self-discipline today! Stick to your short-term goals. Meet deadlines. Do what you say you’re going to do. Do what you know you need to do. When you live a self-disciplined lifestyle, you not only attain your goals, you also earn your own self-respect.
To your unstoppable success,
Meri

“2013 – The Year of Belonging
We are all somewhat challenged entering a new year, as we reflect over what has been and what, in fact, might be. Even the most hardened of people will find some significance in a new year, as an opportunity for re-grounding life. My reflection is thus: “It’s taken so long to rekindle my longing, But now that has come to be, For my joy is made complete in belonging, Praise God, that I can see.

A NEW YEAR’S REDIRECTION
We are all somewhat challenged entering a new year, as we reflect over what has been and what, in fact, might be. Even the most hardened of people will find some significance in a new year, as an opportunity for re-grounding life.
My past five years has been a joy in the writing. I have loved writing every word, editing, playing with nuances of meaning, seeking God in giving me more. The more I prayed for more of God’s words, the more he gave me. At times I couldn’t keep up. Some days I would have ideas for 20 articles. But in the recent few months I have had few and fewer fresh ideas given to me as I sensed God redirecting my ministry focus. A year ago I would have been worried. But for this season I know God is freeing me of the burden of writing prolifically, not that I want to slow down.
I have sensed a movement within my heart from an introverted desire in the mining for words to, recently, over the past six months, an extroverted longing to be connected with other people in real ways, and particularly other men. There has been a renaissance within my soul. I have faced my fears (again).
Entering 2013 is bright with hope, for I do not know, just yet, the intricate details that this New Year holds for me and my family. But there is a sense of unbridled joyous excitement I can hardly contain.
There is an insurgence within my heart to belong. And I do feel there is a place I now belong. My passion, this year, is to extract every nuance of meaning out of the concept of belonging; for myself, for others I care about, and for others I will care about who I may not even have met yet.
This New Year is bright with hope, for the desire to connect spiritual growth toward fulfilment and the transformation of lives – that more and more, people in my circle of influence might say “yes” to Jesus. This just must happen in community. Small groups and mentoring groups and groups just journeying together; serving with one another; and attending to one another’s needs without thought for self: this is my purpose.
It begins in 2013. And within my heart, given what I know now, I’m not sure if there is a better calling. I’m so grateful to God that this concept – belonging, and helping others belong – stirs my heart so much. I can live on this passion. And God will multiply this!

Download Movies Online, Burn and Watch
Download Movies Online, Burn and Watch
The Internet Is Changing The Way We Watch Movies
When movies were introduced to the world, the only way you could see them was to go to the movie theater. Next came video cassettes and DVDs that allow you to watch your favorite movies in high quality only a short time after the film is released in the theaters.
In recent years, the way we watch movies has changed drastically. There is no more driving to the theater to stand in long lines and pay high prices if you want to see the movies. You can forget about dirty screens, bad sound and noisy people. Now you have more choices than you have ever had before now. You now have the power to watch movies you want to see, any time you want to watch them anywhere you want.
A number of different movie download sites have popped up all over the Internet recently. All you need to watch movies is a computer with Internet access and you are ready to get started. Movie download sites usually give you one of three options: pay-per-download, one-time fee or monthly subscription.
Discover Something to Motivate You to Exercise
Discover Something to Motivate You to Exercise
Even though most people are aware of how significant exercise is to weight reduction, many have trouble making themselves do it. There are others who never can seem to find the time. Reality is that developing an exercise routine can be difficult when you are starting out. The key is developing a lifestyle that is accommodating to an exercise routine.
One thing is for sure: you need to get involved with an exercise plan that will keep your attention. In other words, I want you to be involved in exercises that you enjoy. This will make it natural to get into the daily routine since you want to do it.
You can even stay home and exercise. For many people this is key because the time and effort it takes to go to a gym often precludes participation in an exercise program. I use a spare bedroom, but I don’t have fancy equipment as you might expect. I don’t need it and neither do you. What you do need is a balance ball and weights that can be adjusted. A mat helps as well as a stationary bicycle. That’s it. You don’t need a lot to get a fat loss program going. By having a way to exercise at home, you will find that it is easy to work out when you don’t have to go across town. The truth is that many people don’t exercise because they don’t like where they exercise.
What I want you to think about is what might make your exercise time more fun. Whatever you do, you will find that building it on the foundation of activities you enjoy is the key to developing a lifetime of fitness.
You can begin your fitness program together with a good diet. You can find tips for both in the Fat Loss Factor.
