Fall Flings

Fall Flings
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bridgitte_Williams]Bridgitte Williams

Fall is a wonderful time of year. The weather is usually pleasant and mild. The leaves change colors and give us a free show that only nature can provide. The view is spectacular.
Some people get to enjoy outdoor activities, during this time, that were put off until cooler weather arrived. There are some irritating things about fall. Sometimes, the fall breeze can become a bit too strong. Some people resent all those pretty leaves blowing onto their lawns. This may cause a case of rake rage. This means that you grab a rake and attack your yard until you almost drop dead. Rake rage ends in leaf exhaustion. Be careful. There are also leaf wars. This happens when you and your neighbor have a leaf blowing game, back and forth, between your adjoining yards. It can also be called a leaf off. Sometimes, the end result can be a telling off. Clear your yard of tree limbs, so you will not be tempted to hurt someone.
Fall also brings a time change, for most of us. They call it fall back. This means setting your clocks back an hour.

What fun! Some people view this time change as a time war.
We lost, a long time ago, sorry. You will fall back. Some fall apart, until they adjust to the change. Some fall upon complaining to no end, about the change. Most of us just fall into place and get on with our lives. This is the best plan of action, since you have no choice in the matter.
Fall brings events known as fall flings. These are dances, held every year, around fall.
These occasions usually cause delight! Sometimes, though, a fall fling can cause a fall out.
That can include a fall fight, a calling out of work day or a fall down. The fall down usually happens when the fall fling is enjoyed with too much drinking and dancing. That can be embarrassing. It is always best to fall fling wisely.

Fall can also bring a fall flurry. This is that surprising flurry of snow that greets you, usually on the way to work, when you least expect it. Of course, the weather center had no idea it was coming. They probably don’t know when it is going away, either.
There is the fall flush. This is nice, for ladies who do not wear much make up. It is the rosy colored cheeks you get from the stinging fall wind blowing across your face.
Do not forget about the fall flu. You will regret it, if you do. Get shots, get out the sweaters and find a humidifier. If you don’t, you may end up with fall flow. That is your nose becoming a waterfall for a month or two.

Now is the time to address your fall flab. That is the end result of all the Halloween candy that you ate. Take care of this problem soon. You do not want to be a Thanksgiving tubby, now do you? The remedy is a fall flex, sometimes known as a fall fit. Going to a gym is helpful. There, you will find many to share this goal with.

If that does not work, try a fall famine. That is done by eating nothing until Christmas.
Be prepared to encounter the fall financial force. This is a mighty urge that makes us all overspend on turkeys, early Christmas gift sales and huge Christmas trees. This force can take the wind out of your bank account. Try to resist. Do not fall prey to fall fleecers, also called the fall fleecing. These are people who sell high priced items that you normally pay about one dollar for, any other time of year. These usually are present during the first week in December. You greet these sales with a freezing fall no. That way you will not become a fall fool.
Finally, there is the fall over. That is the moment of knowing that there are only a few shopping days until Christmas. Whew.
Happy fall!

Is It Possible To Be Positive Today?

Is It Possible To Be Positive Today?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kimberley_Cohen]Kimberley Cohen

No matter what kind of day you are having, is it possible to be positive?

What I do know is that whatever is transpiring on this day, whether you view it as great, good, bad, or indifferent, in my experience thinking positively can help make the day a better one.

Being optimistic doesn’t take away what is occurring, but it does help make what you are going through easier to endure and, if you are having an awesome day, it only adds to that which is positive already. It’s a win, win situation.

You see, what’s taking place today is taking place. Being positive can generally turn around your mood, and even your day as well. If nothing else, being encouraging beats being discouraging, doesn’t it?

There are days when your feet haven’t even hit the floor to begin your day and you are in a not-so-good space, and it is far from being positive. Have you ever had one of these days?

Then there are ones where nothing seems to go your way. It’s like you are walking around with your shoe laces untied and tripping up constantly. Have you experienced a day like this?

Sometimes you know you are in for some trying days, emotionally, physically, and/or spiritually, and you aren’t looking forward to them by any means. Do you know these types of days?

How about when things occur unexpectedly and turn your world upside down in a moment’s flash. Do you know this one?

Ah… then there are the days that just couldn’t be any better. Do you know these days? Well, everyday may not always measure up to being the best day ever because things happen, but you can still remain positive either way.

Throughout my 48 years, I have, and continue to have my share of scary, trying, unsettling, anxious, stressful, sad, heated, and best days ever.

What I have come to realize is, no matter what, today is the day to be positive.

However I’m feeling, I can choose how I continue to experience the rest of my day.

In spite of everything, I can think positively and see the gifts and blessings surrounding me, or not. It is my choice, and it’s yours as well.

You might have some days where you aren’t interested in feeling optimistic, nor do you care, but know that is your choice also.

Maybe your emotions are too high, raw, or scattered at the moment, that’s okay. Take care of you. Be aware of your moods and be gentle with yourself, and when you are ready, and you will be, you can choose to be encouraging again.

When you are having the best day ever, don’t take it for granted. Enjoy it. Appreciate your positivity and all this glorious day is offering you.

If you are stuck in a rut of day, how can you be more positive? Choose to be.

As you move through your day, stop for a moment once in awhile. Check in with yourself. How are you doing? No, really, how are you doing?

Sometimes we don’t even realize that we are being grumpy, edgy, short, or blaming and complaining, or feeling down, until we stop what we are doing for a minute.

When you do pause, notice if you have been being positive or negative.

If you realize you are being unhelpful, how can you be helpful again to yourself, the situation, or another?

How can you make your day lighter and brighter?

If your friend was having a hard time, what would you say or do to help them? Can you do this for yourself?

Remember, we are creatures of habit, so make it a habit to be positive.

Use these techniques to assist you in seeing where you can be more positive in your life and the benefits to you and your life by being so.

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sunny_James]Sunny James

Time management strategies can really help you get more done and help you achieve your goals.

I am so busy from the time I get up in the morning till the time I go to bed at night that I just do not have the time to do the things I love.

I would love to do that but I just do not have the time.

There is not enough time in the day.
Do these statements sound familiar to you?

If you are someone who is always struggling to find the time in your busy schedule then read this article and start applying the tips. They have helped a lot of people and they can help you.

Here are 3 tips to help you manage your time
1 – Stop procrastination it steals your time right out from under you.

Procrastination is a time stealer it really affects people’s lives in a negative way. You want to be someone who takes action right away on the tasks that need done. This way you are not wasting time putting it off.

2 – Keep a weekly planner

If you get yourself a weekly planner and get in a habit of scheduling your time for all your tasks and appointments this will keep your time organized. You can see at a glance what you are going to be doing today and throughout the week. Then you are not wondering what you should be doing you will know exactly what you need to do and when to do it.

I know it really helped me keep myself organized and on track with my errands, tasks and goals. Because there is a lot going on in each person’s life and it is easy to become overwhelmed and lost.

3 – Do not let others steal your time

Your time is really valuable to you and the last thing you want to do is allowing others to steal your time.
It is OK to learn to say no to others if you do not have your own personal tasks and errands done first. If someone is trying to interrupt while you are doing something just say hey right now is not a good time for me. They will not be offended and tell them you will catch up with them at a later time.

Turning What You Say Into What You Write

Turning What You Say Into What You Write
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gini_Graham_Scott]Gini Graham Scott

As you seek to promote your book or yourself, you may have speaking engagements or interviews. People may call to ask you questions about your work before they book you as a speaker or ask you to be a guest. Whatever you are doing, this is a great opportunity to expand your reach even more by turning whatever you say into articles, blogs, or even a book. Plus, if you are speaking or doing a guest interview, you can videotape or record that – or get a copy of the video or audio recording – and post that on your website, blog, on Facebook, and on other video sharing sites.

A good way to start turning what you say into what you write is to make a transcript of the recording. Then, you can draw on the ideas expressed in that transcript to write an article, blog, or section of a book.

Normally, just transcribing a transcript isn’t enough, because we speak differently than we write. In speaking, you may ramble, have asides, digress to another topic, and add in placeholders like “uhmmm” and “you know”. So you have to organize, edit, and polish up whatever you say. But transcribing what you say is a good starting point, since you have laid out your ideas in your talk or interview.

In creating a transcript, figure on about 4 to 5 hours of typing to produce about 12 to 15 single spaced pages for each hour of speaking. So, a 15 to 20 minute talk or interview might take an hour to an hour and a half to type up, resulting in about 3 to 5 pages of copy. Then, when you reorganize and polish up your transcript, that could result in up to 2 or 3 articles of about 500-700 words – the ideal length for most articles today – depending on what you have said and how well this lends itself to one or a series of articles.

To turn your talk or interview into a transcript, set up a recorder next to your computer and preferably use earphones and a foot pedal, so you can more easily stop and restart the recorder while you continue to type. Just pushing the pause button – or starting and stopping the recorder – will work, too. To save time, forget about recording extraneous comments like “you know” and off-topic digressions. Focus on what you want to include in your article or series of articles.

If you don’t have time to transcribe your recording yourself, hire a typist, and to keep costs down, you might find a student at your local college to work at a low hourly rate or help out as a volunteer intern. Craigslist might be another source of a local typist.

Then, use your transcript to create your article. Depending on how much rewriting you need to do, you can reorganize and edit the file with your transcript – or use your transcript as a guide to write your article. Whichever way you do this, a good way to start is to think of the main themes in your talk or interview and use that to create your title. Or if you have talked enough about different themes, divide that into separate articles.

Next, reorganize your talk or interview as necessary to create a good flow of ideas. Finally, rewrite, edit, or polish what is there. And voila! You have one or more articles you can use in various formats – from a stand-alone article or blog to a section of a book.
