Attitude May Be Everything

Attitude May Be Everything
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Omar_Phillips]Omar Phillips

As we go through the various seasons of our lives, our experiences and encounters begin to paint an internal picture. Memories, internal perceptions, associations, thoughts and emotions are formed and if we’re not careful of our responses to life’s experiences, who we are as individuals can become affected. Our personalities become characterised by our perceptions, and we likewise become individuals who in turn negatively affect the lives of others and the catalogue of life’s tragedy’s amass.

So how can we stop this cycle and create a more productive conclusion? Indeed how do we become a part of the solution as opposed to a part of the problem? How can we contribute to life as opposed to taking away from it?

The ‘mind’ and the ‘heart’ are the two key components that make up our ‘soul’ or our ‘personality’. When people interact with each other they interact essentially utilising these components. We express through our interactions the ‘posture’ of our mind and our heart; how we ‘think’ and how we ‘feel’ about what we think.

Our ‘attitude’ is the posture of our mind, which is our response to the external stimuli we’ve encountered. Our ‘passion’ is the posture of our heart which is the emotional outflow of our mental attitude. Everything we experience positive or negative will either affect our attitude and passion for good or for bad depending on the decisions of the one remaining component within our souls which is our ‘will’.

It’s been said we cannot choose life’s circumstances, but we can choose our response to those circumstances, nowhere is that more true than in our attitude. Our attitude determines what happens inside of us, and although we may appear to be handling things well, if in actuality were not, it is via the posture of our heart, our passions that our internal response will become apparent.

When we talk poetically or theologically of the heart as the emotional centre, it is the same thing we define in psychology as the subconscious mind.

Our subconscious mind forms habits and behaviours from a basic survival instinct, some which are helpful, but many if sustained over a prolonged period can have detrimental side effects upon our lives, e.g. Our subconscious will inform us if were hungry or even if we could do with a little comfort food to satiate our souls, but the prolonged indulgence and inevitable development of this behaviour as a habitual way of life, creates the negative effects of obesity and ill health.

So it takes an educated, informed response to life to enable us to respond maturely and form behaviours and habits that serve us and our fellows as opposed to diminish the quality of our lives and the lives of those we encounter.

The Soul, or personality, our mind and our heart, is characterised predominantly by either one of two opposing forces at work in each of us. The body or the Spirit, the ego or God, and it is our ‘will’ that chooses which of these will be the predominant factor. A soul characterised predominantly by the impulses of our bodies or chemistry is often described as ego, a soul predominantly characterised by the fruits of the spirit, expresses a wisdom and grace that is able to prosper despite the twists and turns of life and its fluctuating circumstances. So let’s look briefly at how everything that happens to us can positively impact our minds and our hearts when we take note of their posture and insure they respond well to the inevitable events that seek to shape who we are.

Everything and the mind

Every time something happens to us our mind logs the events in our memory through the sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings we experience. Assessments are made forming our individual perceptions on the events that make up our lives; from boring to interesting, happy or sad, good and bad, like or dislike.

Living life masterfully is the ability to be honest about who we are and what we like and dislike at a core level, and then living an inspired existence utilising our individual souls tastes and characteristics, through the accompanying gifts and talents we have been given.

The soul derives ultimate fulfilment from being productive, manifesting its unique distinct contribution to the world. But everything that happens to us has the ability to stifle or infuse us, to motivate or to deflate us. If we are on the receiving end of an offence or abuse, the ego will seek to respond with revenge, hostility, back biting, and fire with fire. Depending on our personality, we will either do this internally or externally. Keeping a right attitude is almost impossible unless we learn to draw from spirit. Spirit is who we are, especially if this is the predominant force we choose to identify with, identification with spirit is the first step towards obtaining a soul characterised by spirit. Robert Holden in his many inspired writings refers to this aspect of us as the ‘unconditioned self’, ‘Us’ prior to the events that shape us and the experiences that impact upon us. Robert asserts for example that happiness is not something we need go in pursuit of but that is already in existence within us in our unconditioned self. Learning how to draw from the wisdom of our unconditioned self or from our spirit is the key to manifesting the characteristics that make for a soul characterised by higher virtues, qualities that make life a pleasure as opposed to a painful neurotic roller-coaster.

Everything and the heart

When we have set the posture of our mind and adopted an attitude that serves us, the posture of our heart, our souls passion is able to align with our highest values. Living out our highest values brings the soul the satisfaction and peace for which it longs. Again, the heart needs to discover the spirit as its source for everything it needs. The apostle who wrote the lion’s share of the New Testament defined the fruit or manifestation of the spirit as Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Tenderness, Self-control, Faithfulness and Goodness. All the attributes that make for a truly holistic existence, exist inside us; our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

At creation when God breathed the Breath of life into humankind, He literally breathed his Spirit into us, which is why we unlike other living creatures have Spirit. We therefore have the ability to manifest Spirit, if we would only ‘know who we are’. ‘Knowing who we are’ enables us to respond differently to life’s setbacks and ennobles us to co-create in order to shape the world around us for good. Because of who we are if we allow ego to be the driving factor within us we will create, but what we create will always have inherent flaws and negative side effects. Conversely a soul; a mind and a heart that has directed its will to choose the route of spirit, is able to create things that contribute substantially and anything and everything that occurs to such lives, rather than taking away from them becomes another valuable experience from which wisdom is drawn. And hope is expressed.

What Would You Tell The Five Year Old You?

What Would You Tell The Five Year Old You?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=David_B_Geschke]David B Geschke

If you could go back and talk to yourself as a little boy or girl, what would you say? How would you approach it? What are the most important things you would want to let yourself know at that age? Taking some time to put some thought into this RIGHT NOW might be helpful before reading on… Here is how I see my conversation going:

“Little Dave, you are SO special, you’re smart and funny and you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. Don’t EVER underestimate the power of your own thoughts! It’s what you believed was possible that eventually created who you are today, which is me. We all miss some opportunities, everyone makes mistakes. I’m really happy with the results so far, but since I’ve been given the chance to come back and give you some advice, here goes”:

1 – THOUGHTS CREATE THINGS – Be VERY conscious of what you focus on. SEE yourself succeeding! You will become what you think about, so focus on positive, uplifting thoughts that stir passion within you. Don’t allow other people’s negativity to change any thought or belief you know in your heart is right for you. You can do ANYTHING IN LIFE that you believe, TRULY BELIEVE, for yourself. Belief alone isn’t enough. Once you’ve set a goal, move ahead and let your passion inspire you to do so confidently and in a manner that will be so uplifting to others they will want to help you. You can get anything you want in life if you help enough other people get what THEY want.

EVERYTHING YOU DO from this point forward originates in thought. Get rid of bad, negative thoughts and do not allow negative, cancerous people into your life. Whether you live in light or darkness is your choice. Choose light! Whenever you feel darkness overcome you, look for a light switch – there are times it will be well hidden, but light is ALWAYS available.

2 – DEFEATS ARE STRENGTHS – Defeats are temporary, success is a state of mind. There will be times in life where nothing will seem to be working, where demons will seem to have taken a foothold and darkness falls over your thoughts. These times are the biggest opportunities life has to offer! It is from the darkest of times, our greatest defeats, that we discover our strengths. Always look for the hidden opportunity in every defeat. It’s there; you just have to look for it. Demons try to control your thoughts by handing you defeats in life. They look for weaknesses. But YOU control your reactions, YOU control your thoughts, YOU control your destiny. It’s how you react to setbacks that will show what you’re really feeling internally. Always look for the opportunities in any setback.

3 – BE A FORCE FOR GOOD – In the same way that you always have to be on the lookout for opportunities in any setback and control your own thoughts by focusing on what’s going RIGHT in life, you also need to bring that positive outlook to everything you do. Be a force for GOOD in the world! Help others see the potential in themselves. Change people’s perceptions of what is possible. Just as you can attain whatever you believe is possible for yourself, you can impact any group or organization in life in a similar fashion:

– AT WORK: No matter what the job is, always do your best. If the atmosphere is negative, be a force for the other side. Point out what’s great, look for ways to improve the company and always remember you’re a free agent and can change jobs any time you want to if the circumstances aren’t conducive to a positive mental state. NO job is ever worth doing if you’re just there for the money and dread going in every day. This is one of the most common areas for darkness to sneak into the minds of people. Be aware of this and always look at things from an attitude of doing the best you can and changing things at work for the better.

– FAMILY: Not everyone in your family will be supportive of everything you do. There will be times when other family members are dealing with defeats of their own. Emotional issues with other family members can get heated at times. RELAX… center yourself, and look for ways to change your ENTIRE family’s thought patterns and lives for the better. We first learn to FEED OUR ANGEL and be aware of our personal thought patterns, but families have thought patterns of their own (as do businesses and communities), so align yourself with the angels. Look for what’s going RIGHT, don’t let the naysayers bring you down. Be a leader in your family.

– COMMUNITY: Every community needs leaders. Every community has organizations that help others, where people can volunteer and make a positive impact not only on themselves and their personal families, but the lives of others. A community can be a city, state, country or the world. How many people’s lives would you like to impact? Always look for ways to serve the community. Do what you can to help others align with angels. We can change the world one thought pattern at a time!

“So, little Dave, please take these words to heart. You’re capable of SO many things… really ANYTHING, but you just need to believe it. Setbacks are inevitable, but once you really understand the power of thoughts NOTHING can stop you! And I KNOW because I’m YOU!”…

Unfortunately, none of us can go back and give ourselves advice based on our current levels of knowledge. If we did, we might not be here because the choices we made that brought us here might change because of the impact we had on that awesome little kid that was us so many years ago…

Here’s what we CAN do:

1 – Make sure every child in your life knows these things! You can’t tell yourself, but there are millions of children who need to know what you wish you knew. We can ABSOLUTELY change the world one child at a time! “Be a force for good” in the lives of every child you meet!

2 – You can’t go back and talk to yourself as a child, but… what would the future you tell yourself if he or she visited today? Probably the same types of things! We are ALL capable of SO MUCH MORE than we realize! Find ways to spread LOVE to the world! Learn to love yourself, to FEED YOUR ANGEL every day, then take that love, take that positive, can-do “I can’t be defeated” attitude into EVERYTHING YOU DO! Have a conversation with your future self, they’ll tell you. No matter where life finds you today, you can and must leave a legacy of love. FEED THE ANGELS OF THE WORLD. As we all focus on what’s right, the world will change with us.

YOU CAN DO THIS.
WE ALL CAN!

Feeling Unloved? Here’s What You Need to Know

Are you feeling unloved? Here are 4 signs on your face that give clues about the balance of love in your life and actions you can take starting today.

Feeling Unloved? Here’s What You Need to Know
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jean_Haner]Jean Haner

I was looking into the face of a woman in pain. Not physical pain, but pain on a spirit level, because somewhere in her system, the love was blocked.

As she described her struggles in life, I could clearly see the story written in the features and markings of her face.

Where is the Love Blocked?

The details of her mouth reflected the anguish in not feeling nurtured in her current relationship, but also revealed her long experience with that pattern throughout life, dating back to childhood. This part of her face showed me that she’d felt so bereft for so long that she was no longer even receptive to the love people did try to give her.

She told me with great disgust that she’d consulted world-famous therapists, coaches, healers and even psychics, trying to discover a way out, but no one had ever been able to help her. As I listened, I noticed details in her brow area that showed the years of feeling rejected and deprived had deepened to the point that it had transformed into anger, causing her to strike out at those closest to her, or refuse anyone who tried to help her.

Markings on her chin revealed how she’d powered through life on pure will, feeling unsupported, that there would never be anyone she could rely on or trust. And this had created a pattern of belief that kept her locked into feeling isolated and unsupported.

But at the same time, as I gazed at her face, what was revealed was her true inner nature shining through — the power and beauty of who she was meant to be — and how it was all there just waiting for her to come home to.

Your Face Shows What You Need to be Happy

Face reading an ancient branch of Chinese medicine, which teaches that your personality, your inner design, and your whole life story can be read in the features of your face.

Each aspect of your face is like one piece of a puzzle, which, when viewed all together, creates the picture of who you came here to be, what you came here to learn, how you can express limitless love and find genuine happiness in life.

Your face also shows how you may have lost touch with your true nature, and so access to love becomes blocked, just as hers had. When the flow of love is blocked, this affects not only love from others, but your own self-love, and your ability to express love to others.

And this block can start to form very early in life, creating an imbalance that just compounds over the years.

When You Discover How to Create Balance, Your Life Can Heal Itself

Chinese medicine teaches that if your body is in balance, it heals itself. For instance, we all have cancer cells in our bodies all the time — Why do some people get cancer and others don’t? The principles of Chinese medicine show that if your body is in balance, it can clear diseased cells. So the goal with acupuncture is to bring the body’s energy into balance and thus healing happens naturally.

The same concept applies to your inner spirit. When you can discover how to bring balance back on a spirit level, your life can heal itself.

Your Face Reveals the Spirit Level Work Needed to Make You Feel Happy and Loved

This is what I was reading in my client’s face — the map of her spirit’s personal journey, how she had traveled away from her original nature to this unhappy point in life — but ALSO how she could return to balance and have things unfold entirely differently from here.

While her mouth reflected her life challenges around relationship, it also showed a woman with a strong natural desire to give to others. Her inherent generosity of spirit and her ability to help people was the most powerful force in her life.

Certainly the messages from her eyebrows indicated anger, but they also marked a strong drive to create positive change for others, to make the world a better place. Her chin showed her tendency to go it alone, but it also revealed a natural ability to help other people find their strength in life.

In this woman’s case, her inner spirit was one that was especially drawn to showing up as a loving helper, the highest form of “mothering” presence for others as her true calling in life. But she could never achieve this in her current state of imbalance.

The messages on her face showed us the way to bring balance back, to resolve the decades-old experiences of feeling unloved and being unloving, and to transform the anger into a booster rocket that could blast through the stuck places and move her into her amazing power to love and help others, and receive the same in return.

There is a language each spirit speaks in its heart of hearts. When you can speak those words to that person, like magic, balance begins to return.

I could read this woman’s unique language in the features of her face, and as I began to speak it to her, her whole energy immediately began to change. And the love began to flow again.

Four Examples: What Your Face May Be Telling You

Your face offers many messages that can help you re-balance your life. Here are four examples:

Eyebrows: Your eyebrows reflect your drive and ability to achieve your vision for the future. If you pluck your eyebrows too severely or have scarring there, that inner strength can be diminished. Your self-confidence can falter, and angry or dominating people can be attracted to you.

If after years of plucking, your eyebrows no longer grow back, you can even use make-up to restore them and you’ll experience a corresponding effect on your spirit. In fact, many people have reported that once their confidence and drive started coming back, suddenly their eyebrows were growing back naturally! Your face is just a reflection of your inner self.

Eyes: If you have natural dark shadowing around your eyes, this indicates that you feel things more deeply than others do. Your feelings can be hurt more easily as well and if this happens, you may lose your voice, withdraw and feel a loss of trust which can damage the relationship.

It’s important to understand the other person may not even have known they hurt you, and find a way to re-establish communication. You may be surprised to discover that what they meant to say was not at all what you heard, and it can save you a lot of anguish.

Mouth: If you have wrinkles near your mouth, these are often signs you are over-giving and/or under-receiving in life. It’s important to look at how you may have lost your receptivity, or that you’ve been sacrificing your own needs far too often over the years. Now is the time to get “selfish” and practice excellent self-care!

These wrinkles are often signs of years of carrying too much responsibility or feeling guilty about ever saying no to someone, so it can take some time to change that pattern. Start in little ways, by giving yourself special treats or letting others help you in small ways such as carrying your groceries or making you a cup of tea!

Eyelids: In some faces, the upper eyelids are easily visible. If you have this kind of eyelids, it means you may have a tendency to be too good of a soldier – toughing things out and never asking for help. This doesn’t always serve you well and can cut you off from those who are trying to give you love.

In difficult times, you’ll tend to withdraw and never even let others know what’s going on. It’s important to allow yourself to explore ways you can comfortably reach out to friends and still feel like you have some privacy.

What could you learn in your own face, to know the places the love is blocked in your own life, and how you can release it to allow you to soar beyond all your limitations?
